Granted, our 2008 Olympic team has some fine centre backs in Milligan, Leijer and Topor-Stanley, but I think Boogs may well be playing himself into the Olympic squad.
Continued fine progress this season and an injury to one of the above and he may be a smokey for the Olympics.

With what various people said I think he had the potential all along. He is now starting to fill that potential.
But he hasn't started an A-League game yet. He therefore still has to prove himself. Here's hoping he carries his current form into the real thing, then Olyroos duties will be a certainty be it now or a bit later on.

Someone will have to volunteer to sleep with Arnie though! * Look at how hard it has been for Wilko to get a look in at the fringe Socceroos! * I'm too old and ugly

I'd put money that Boogard will play for Soccoroo's within next 2-3years. He looks like he will be a stand out for us this year like Beauchamp was in season 1.

Well Boogs goes well for me in FM 07 for the U/23's ;D. Definitely a possibility for Beijing if he stays fully fit, watching him since his Northern Spirit FC days showed the talent back then, and now hi potential is building

I just hope he stays injury free and fulfills his potential Rep honours will come after that... id love his form to be good enough for us so that he would be considered for the olyroos

I fly regularly to Canberra with Boogs' dad Michael - ex-defender for Newcastle United (v1, not the current v2 scum), so know the details of what a devastating two years it has been for the lad.
It's fantastic to see he's pulled through that and is firing now.

I don't remember him (not unusual for me ). His name rings a bell from the Spirit days. He may have been in the youth team.

He was a student at Hunter Sports so it sounds logical he would have played PYL with Newcastle United till they were kicked out of the comp about 3 years ago.

Sounds like an ideal candidate for one of the new 'Fanzine player profiles/interviews'!
