Hahaha, one and a half bays would be our worst ever attendance. I just refuse to believe that some within your group don't see the Squadron Ultras as a serious thing - Loudy and his ramblings (and signature) on your forum for example. And even if it _is_ one giant pisstake, it's a damaging image to project. Surely you guys understand this, yay/nay??

Back to the game, has anyone heard any news about the likely size of the crowd?
I'm hoping for a minimum of 12,000 and surely that is achievable. It's time the Coast started turning out in big numbers for our team. This is the biggest and most important game in our history apart from the GF of course.
I know it's still a long way until Sunday but I was hoping for more promotion from the club than what we've had. You know, a lot of stories on the website talking up the game, pumping people up for the big derby, urging people to get out there on Sunday to cheer on the yellow etc
If we don't get a big crowd for this one, then when will we?
This game is huge!!!!

I would like to see around 15k for this one. Given our numbers in previous weeks I don't think that figure is out of the question at all. I'd be a bit dissapointed with less really.
All the planets are in line with being top of the table, local derby (opposition in 2nd) playing good football, nice weather forcast, no local rugby league or football finals on etc etc etc... Come on coast...GET INTO IT!!!!!

Yes, I noticed the flags are back up to which is great.
The local media coverage is a disgrace. I'm sure Ben and co are working hard with the local papers but really the coverage locally is pathetic and pitiful. It is nothing more than a token gesture to run the stories they do.
The radio stations aren't any better either.
To think we have the only local team playing in a fully professional national competition shown live on national pay tv and the dickhead editors who run these media outlets continue to either ignore it or give it minimum attention pisses me off.
We should really consider a co-ordinated campaign (phone calls, letters to the editor etc)to give the club and this great game the respect and coverage it deserves.
It's insulting and wrong and part of a broader plot to keep the game from getting the media space it deserves. I long for the day these Rugby League loving (News Ltd) editors who control column inches are gone and we once and for all rid ourselves of this blatant discrimination.

Timmy if you want to know why I think he is a tool here are a couple of his posts that i've handpicked from your fourm, that I think make him a tool.
Then there's the numerous times he gives reference to the CCE.
He's probably a nice bloke in real life, but the things that he posts on that forum makes him sound like a pretentious tool.

The sad thing is that if the squadron continue to threaten violence, one day they will get what they want (please dont take this as a threat because it isnt).
Groups that try to project a violent/well 'ard image can often reap what they sow.
I assume that none of them have ever actually been involved in violence at a game of the scale they get all excited about?? As someone a little older and wiser with a sadly misspent youth, let me say you dont want to go there.........EVER.
I would hope that the mods of this board would swiftly ban anyone who proposes violence and if you guys think that makes us softies - well, I can live with that.

Last week the Express Advocate friday edition gave a full double page spread to the Mariners and included an article on the Lightning on another page - I hardly call that coverage a disgrace.

One swallow does not make a summer.
Although welcomed, that does not constitute good coverage. This is a very rare occurance and overall the media space is simply not good enough.

This game is huge!!!! I would hope 16, 000, its 1 V 2, a local derby. Our crowds to date are averaging around 9, 163 add another two from the coast and Newcastle say 3 to 4 thousand. We need some big crowds to help with media and to grow the clubs acceptance. Saw in today press Melbourne Storm to play 4 matches here next year. Looks to me like a toe in the water to see what kind of crowd they pull. PS about the violence lets never go there and remember the media would eat us for breakfast and would be a huge turn off for general public.
