How is it that Jesus gets kicked out within 2 seconds of throwing an empty plastic cup, and these idiots are allowed to stand there burning a scarf for so long, and then allowed to stay in the ground?

I agree with you, yes blame needs to be laid but on the people to blame not the whole group. Maybe my post didnt state that but that is what i was getting at. That and the fact that Mariners fans (Not necessarily Marinators) did start some scuffles on the way out.

We then had to deal with the scuffles from the Jet supporters while trying to leave the stadium with young children with us. Now alot of the stuff in both those complaints are valid and to Marinersman well done for sticking to your guns about these situations. Fire in a ground regardless of nature is illegal and people should be arrested, banned etc... Only thing i disagree about here is the Jets fans were the only ones to start/be blamed for the scuffles. Im not condoning the actions just that an open view from both sides without laying blame on either sets of fans, just the people involved From what I saw, it was SOME mariners fans starting SOME of the pushing, but only in retaliation to having "1-0 and you f***ed it up" in there faces. No one deserves that shit.

Agreed, if the security did see the person responsible for that they should have kicked the person out.

Thats the same thing i've been wondering. I'm not offended by someone burning a scarf (hey they bought it - they can do what they like with it). It's more that Security is harsh on some things like empty plastic cup throwing and need to be called to action on other things like setting fires. Its almost every home game someone needs to go and get security to do something (remember the AFL fans in bay 16 a few weeks ago). I'm all for some self policing but why do we need to police others outside our group?

No one deserves that shit. I totally agree. I did see one of those occasions were the Jets fan did taunt a single guy and the guy reacted. Both are to be blamed. I just dont like to be tarred with the brush that some of you are throwing all over the place.

We simply cannot allow this to happen and not persue the apprpriate action. Please start emailing and we'll get action. We've got to make a lot of noise about this. It's far too serious not to follow it up.

In terms of Griffiths, surely now it's bringing the game in to disrepute, if I was the AR I'd be contacting police. As for these scum that call themselves fans, lock them up and don't let them out, that's absurd, but thanks for recording yourselves and giving us all the evidence we need!
Buckley said. "Throwing projectiles at anyone is a serious offence. Throwing them at players and match officials is even more serious.'' - Surely that would include a player's fist?

For you guys who want to send emails off, the addresses are: info@footballaustralia.com.au info@ccmariners.com.au jetmail@newcastlejets.com.au
Let's take action to ensure these baffoons are never allowed to attend another match. I just don't want to see a major incident at a match where people could be seriously injured.
Please take the time to email. It only takes a few minutes and if we do something about it, we're protecting the game we love and potentially fans.

I'm as much pissed with the Tele as the few idiots in 30 000+ fans at the 2 games in question. Almost hate to tears to see all the good created by hard work brought down.
The damaging article filling virtually all of the general sport section's 2nd page (after TV). The page carries NO reference to the weekly Football Fever in the same paper where you'd find more / balancing / even positive news about the state of the beautiful game.

back to the 'Corica incident', I found this on the SMH website:-
"Corica suspended for two matches
* * Email * Printer friendly version * Normal font * Large font
October 9, 2007 - 1:52PM Advertisement
Veteran Sydney FC midfielder Steve Corica will serve a two-match suspension after receiving a red card in his side's 1-0 A-League loss to reigning premiers Melbourne.
Corica was sent from the field in the 25th minute of Saturday's loss for a reckless challenge on Victory defender Steve Pantelidis.
The A-League match review panel today slapped Corica with an additional one match suspension to the one he automatically receives for being shown a red card.
Corica will miss Sydney's matches against Perth and Adelaide.
The match was marred by controversy as spectators pelted referee Mark Shield with bottles after the match."
How come the panel can change or add to Corica's card when it was dealt with on field?

Can you really blame the telegraph for picking up on incidents that are actually quite serious (OK it's a League Journo but you can't leave that stuff).
Chimmi: If you get red carded it goes to the panel who can choose to extend the suspension

Because it was a red card, they have the option to extend the mandatory ban, depending on what he did to get sent off.
