Dunno about everyone else but I've had enough of talking about the derby and Joel Griffiths.......we have an important game on Sunday against QLD.
Possible lineup I guess :
------------------Trotty Osman-----Clark----Jedi------Heff Gumps----Tommy---Hutch---Kwas ---------------Mori----Sasho
Bench
Redmayne Porter/Brown Owens Mrdja/Simon
Not too many options for this 1 and with no Boogs (who IMO has been our player of the year so far) or Danny, we will be tested. QLD played ok last weekend and a win would have boosted their confidence, never lost here at Bluetongue either. An early goal for them could be curtains for us, will be very tough.

very tough game ahead and will be a tense fixture for the Mariners.
if we play like we did against Newie, im sure we can hold off and score our first home win against these freaks.
btw, joke of the match is that Tiatto looks like a walking orange penis.

Personally i would like to see Owens starting on the right instead of gumps, with an interchange of the two in the early second half, gumps always changes the dynamic of the game for good when he comes on, but has had trouble impacting from a starting position on the right flank. Owens would be itching to make an impact into the starting lineup and with the inspiration of fellow bench warmer tommy from last weeks performance i believe now would be the best time to throw him in. ---------------------Trott Osman--------Clark---Jedi---------Heff Owens-----Tommy----Hutch-----Kwas --------------Mori---------Sasho----------- Subs Gumps on for Owens around the 60th minute Mrdja on for Mori around the 70th minute Besides that, i dont mind

I think you will find that Mori was signed for six weeks (the minimum period) but is no longer available. Hence Lawrrie's pleas to Mrdja to play through the pain.

pjennings you are correct, came across this article on foxsports.com:
Time's up for Mori at Mariners By Marco Monteverde October 10, 2007 DAMIAN Mori won't get the chance to take on his former Queensland Roar teammates on Sunday, with Central Coast coach Lawrie McKinna yesterday revealing the former Australia striker had played his last game for the Mariners.
Mori signed a six-week short-term deal with the first-placed Mariners last month as cover for injured defender Paul O'Grady.
But it was kept quiet that the evergreen Mori, who last season played for both the Mariners and Roar, would be absent for two of those six weeks on a pre-planned family holiday to the US.
Mori, who has played three games in his second stint for the Central Coast without scoring, will return to Australia with one week remaining on his Mariners contract.
But McKinna ruled out using the 37-year-old marksman for one last hurrah.
"He's going on holiday for two and a half weeks and he's going to be over there drinking beer and eating the food of his life, so he's not going to be fit to come back and play football," McKinna said.
"Basically we brought him in to do a job for three weeks."
McKinna was pleased with Mori's contribution despite the deadly finisher failing to find the back of the net.
"Having him on the park takes a wee bit of focus off other people," the Mariners mentor said.
"He's done the job we needed. It would have been good for him to get a couple of goals but you don't always get what you want."
Mori, the scorer of 15 A-League goals for three A-League clubs, had no problems with McKinna's decision to overlook him for the final week of his contract.
"That's fine . . . it's not a big deal," said Mori, who admitted he had not been overly happy with his form for the Mariners in matches against Perth Glory, Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets.
"I didn't play very well, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You always like to score. That's what you're governed by when you play up front."
Mori was evasive on whether he had played his last A-League game or if another short-term stint was an option.
"I'm looking forward to going away on my holiday," he replied.
Adelaide-based Mori did reiterate his desire to coach at A-League level, but said he had not been approached by likely expansion club Gold Coast Galaxy.
He was also reluctant to discuss a possible coaching appointment in Perth if current Glory boss Ron Smith is shown the door in response to the club's ordinary start to the season.
Mori wasn't concerned about missing out on the opportunity to renew acquaintances with Roar on Sunday in Gosford, saying he needed a break after constant South Australian state league and A-League football for the best part of three years.
"A couple of weeks off will do me good," he said.

Good luck to Mori in the future.
Even though he hasn't scored - as Lawrie said, he's helped draw some of the attention away from some other players, and he still has showed his brilliance in some of his off-the-ball positioning and some of his touches.
I'd rather see Gumps on the bench, especially with Tommy P getting back into the swing of starting (but yet to hit peak form). There's a fair chance Qld are going to hammer our back line all game - and with our missing players they may be running even harder against us. A well timed Gumps substitution could be an absolute killer, especially playing against tired legs.
This is likely to be a difficult game, and Jedi's going to have his work cut out for him assuming he'll be in CB again, but I'm looking forward to seeing how well he handles it.
I'd rather see Kwassie on the right, or wandering - just as long as he stays well behind our front line. He'll probably be most useful hanging towards the defensive end of midfield, but he could potentially be used to mix things up at the attacking end a bit - that would depend on how the game goes, where we contain Qld, and where they and us are distributing balls from.
If Hutcho retains last week's form he could be an important player.

Thanks Mori, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out...is that possible? ;D In all seriousness, good on him for coming back and helping us out. It didn't work out this time as he said but his contribution over two years has been valuable. Now we look forward. Trott Ossie Jedi Clark Heff - - -- - -Hutch - Gumps - - - Owens Kwas - - - - - - - - -Tommy - - - - - - Sasho Bench: Redders, Brown, Porter, Simon/Mrdja if he can In this, Kwas and Tommy would take turns being the second striker and I would have at least one of them close to Sasho at all times. It's not a lone striker but more of a flexible diamond 4-4-2 where the number 10 and the second striker are free to swap and drift wide. Tommy's touch and Kwasaldinho's running at defenders should be a deadly combo with Sasho's hold-up play and clinical finishing. The midfield shield of three just gives a bit more structure to things - when we have Kwas or Tommy on a flank we can get exposed there if they wander. Seo had a free walk into crossing position in Qld because Kwas was off his wing a lot. If GregO isn't fit enough then use Browny there. Predictions - get back to our original plan and win our home games. Lawrie will be going all out attack to make this happen. With our disrupted back line I think he will know that pressuring them will be the best way to go. I foresee a penalty to us in this game, with Kwassa to nail it past Reddy as he did twice in one game last year

I believe he did it 3times in that game one was disallowed LIke your formation and ideas would be scary for any backline. At what time say scores are even would you guys like to see Mrdja thrown on the park.? This is the match where Owens needs to show us why we signed him I like the chances of a Hefff goal this week. 10,813crowd 2nil if wonder kids don't play 4-2 if they do 2nil=heff and kwaz 4-2=heff kwaz hutch tommy

Given no more mori I think we'll see Kwas up front, Lawrie likes his 4-4-2 and I can't see that changing even though I like the look of Brett's lineup.
------------------Trotty Osman-----Clark----Jedi------Heff Gumps----Tommy---Hutch---Brown ---------------Kwas----Sasho
Bench
Redmayne Porter Owens Mrdja/Simon
Would love to see Owens get a start or at least some decent game time.

I can't see McAndrew getting a starting spot over more experianced players, maybe a spot on the bench, but deffinatly not a starting position. The kid has potential, but is prob not ready just yet.

Many would have said the same about the Qld situation, look at the 'experienced players they have, millicic(played for AUS), lynch(played for celtic), the list goes on, and they took a punt on some young exciting players, ZULLO and Kruse, and look what happens, they both probaly deserve MOTM.
Honestly ZULLO is AUS next big thing

True, but in any case, form the reports i have heard from the 7's tournament, Ian carved up Exactly a 7's tournament where teams send their youngsters/reserves to play in. It's not a proper reflection of their talent. McAndrew probably is a very talented player, don't get me wrong, but at the moment it is going to very hard to break into the first XI. We have a lot of quality players in that midfield role and some more players that are still trying to get into that position, Brad Porter for example. McAndrew will get his chance, but he just has to wait and show Lawrie, in training, what he can do.
