Danny definately deserves a run in the back line after his slide tackle last week :-)

id like to see 4 goals for us in a game, we havent gotten it for 2 years i think, and maybe with the ruthless attack needed to take the pressure off our makeshift defense this week, we may see that result however i wouldnt get too confident

Really looking forward to this now. Maybe it's the thrill (fear) factor of only having 15 to pick the 15 from but there's some excitement machines in there. I've got a feeling there's going to be a lot of goals, some cards (and red's on the orange side of yellow in the rainbow and probably a penalty somewhere. If we can get the 3 that'll be even sweeter under the circumstances. If not...still TOP OF THE LEAGUE

There have been 11 goals in 2 games already and I can also foresee a few in Newcastle. 3-2 to Mariners (goals to Tommy, Kwas, and Sasho) Crowd 10,001 (be that one!) Heading up on the train in a couple of hours.

Kwasnik subbed off for an injury, and Porter has been sent off - not looking good at all.
EDIT: saw the 'half-time highlights' on TWG - goal was very soft and ridicolous - Trott and Heff to blame really. And that red card... (shakes head) how referees can be so blind I don't know. At worse yellow card.
Crowd sounded very revved up at the ref though from the radio transmission.

Absolute farkin bullsh*t porters sending off i wouldn't have even givin it a foul let alone a bloody sending off. Kwas and browny gone, porter been in effective in patches and was at fault for the shot the lead to the corner. This half is soo gone so bad we have robbie slater agreeing with us now. lets hope 2nd half we produce a miracle cause thats what we need.

Great effort from the boys in the second half, simon is gunna score soon i just know it. If i was Frank farina i would be very unhappy, they let us play all over them for the whole second half and they couldn't give a stuff about attacking and improving there goal difference in this tight and competitive league. All this talk about buying a new marquee signing, i'd rather spend turnbell's money on a medical centre.... that's more important atm.
P.S. Mile Jedinak is a Superstar

absolute farce from the ref.
but you wonder if queensland would have been that miserably poor if they hadnt already been one goal up.
really impressed with owens' attitude, clark and jedinak did really well too

A bit of tidier finishing aside, I was pretty impressed by the performance and character of our "bare-bones" team, a man down particularly in the 2nd half.
Pity such a soft goal was conceded early, the defence stayed firm from the debacle onward.
I desperately hope that Kwas and Browny haven't done anything too serious. And that Lawrie didn't spend $10 000 in the half-time interview with the Fox crew (and did he get booked by the 4th official?)

Yea, i saw that too (the 4th official speaking to lawrie then writing something in his book) Very impressive effort under the circumstances. Would have been easy to drop the bundle after 1 early goal, let alone 2 more injuries and a robbery of a red card. To be that depleted and create enough chances that Qld felt they had to play time-wasting for 60min to protect their 1 goal lead shows true determination. To get a point or 3 actually wouldn't have been out of the question. Highlights on You-tube (not just the goal): www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoxqGPMgb6M

THAT WAS F****D!!!!!
Was just a rubbish game....god we gave away a lot of balls. Our attack was nothing, our shots considted or long range ground-based balls straight to the keeper.
With all our players out we were always going to do it tough. Then to lose 2 more players during the game to injury, plus that stupid red card.....I can't blame the boys for losing their focus and struggling to play at their peak.
Is it my imagination, or does Reinaldo either pull the shirt, or push in the back EVERY FREAKING TIME he gets near the ball?
Just one of many things the ref missed....

Another disappointing effort. Yes, they played BETTER in the 2nd half, but they still only carved out one or two decent chances. And just why the $@!? do they wait until they're a goal down before they wake up and start trying to play some decent football?
Haven't seen the red card incident on TV yet, so will have to hold off until the show on Fox Sports tomorrow.....
As for positives, I thought Mile did well (would still like to see him back in midfield, when possible, though...), as did Matt Simon & Hutch. Trottski made a couple of decent saves, but he was badly at fault for the goal.
Didn't think much of the others....the defence should start sorting itself out soon when we get Wilko, Boogs & Vidmar all back. Seriously worried about the strikeforce, though....I said at the start of the season that I thought we needed another striker...that Mrdja had yet to prove his fitness, and we didn't have the depth that some were claiming. Sadly, that was spot on. Simon is doing his best, but Petrovski is doing bugger all and there's not much threat from us up front at the moment.
Do I hear the words 'Marquee' & 'Striker' for next season?

Petrovski is doing bugger all and there's not much threat from us up front at the moment I think if sasho wasn't the focus of the opposition's defense he would get a couple more chances now and then - i.e. if we had a more threatening striker along side him.

Just seen the Porter incident.
What a f***ing joke. I am not even sure it was a foul TBH. Should have hit the AR in the balls instead. Thats only worth a yellow and Ben (Invisible) Buckley going on ABC to defend their inaction.
