This one is a must win. From what I can tell we get most of our awesome defense back that worked for the first 5 games of the season i.e. Vidmar, Boogaard, and Vukovic with osman being the only exception. We could be down to 15 men again this week due to the possibility that Brown and Kwasnik could be out and with Porter being suspended. my lineup for this game is, covering all bases with Brown and Kwas, out (I dont know how we can fill a full bench up): --------------------------Vukovic Clark--------Boogaard------Vidmar------Heffernan -------------------------Jedinak Gumprecht--------Hutchinson-----------Pondeljak ----------------Petrovski--------Simon Bench: Trott, McAndrew, Owens, Redmayne? ? I hope Kwas and Brown are alright

If Kwas is fit I would play Jedi at right full back rather than Clarkie.

Apologies to the ladies in advance. Just in case any single male supporters needed any extra incentive to take the trip over this weekend. I will leave any scoring puns for someone else.
NZ women most promiscuous: survey Email Printer friendly version Normal font Large font October 13, 2007 - 8:34AM
Advertisement New Zealand women have the most sexual partners in the world, according to a global sex survey reported on Saturday.
They have an average of 20.4 sexual partners, according to a survey by condom-maker Durex - well above the global average of 7.3.
The Durex Sexual Wellbeing Global survey, which questioned 26,000 people in 26 countries, found that Austrians topped the male list with 29.3 sexual partners, more than twice the global average of 13.2.
New Zealand was the only country where women were more promiscuous than their men, who averaged 16.8 sexual partners, The Press newspaper said, reporting the survey.
The survey showed that Austrians were the youngest to lose their virginity at an average of 17.3 years, followed by Brazilians (17.4), Germans (17.6) and New Zealanders (17.8).

Kwas is 50/50 at this stage, Browny I have no idea?
No win in 3 now, we'll need that to change if we're to be real title contenders.

If we lose this game the mariners will never again be on top of the ladder this season, to be honest im very surprised we havent already signed another striker, its obvious we are toothless again, we havent scored a goal from a Striker since Sasho against Adelaide and we lost that game anyway...
We really have had a bad run with red cards, thats for damn sure but unless we make a statement on the league and start demanding some respect by getting a big name, we are really just gonna be pushed over by the media and the other a-league clubs, we need to be feared and right now, with our squad full of glass legs, we simply arent.
SIGN AN AWESOME MARQUEE STRIKER NOW!

Signing someone of quality is not THAT easy, remember any decent league in the world is well into it and any decent striker is playing not sitting on the bench or off contract. Obviously they are looking but they are professional managers and great football heads so I think they know what they are doing.

Maybe a Socceroo without a club, named John scored the winning goal in the WCQ, scored the third goal against Japen, Knocked back Sydney.
He would be a great signing

Yeh, would really love us to get our hands on Aloisi, imagine the marketing value....! Flashbacks of him scoring the penalty, a mariners squad member being part of the 3 greatest moments in Australias sporting history... Not to mention he can play and would definitely score some decent goals along side Sasho, we have the money, lets put Viddy under the cap, add some youth development perks to his contract and splurge on Aloisi!!! Gah, its just getting me frustrated, i know the board are alot better at this stuff than me, i just dont want to see us lose our awesome start to the season

Great preview as usual DJ.
I have heard McAndrew hurt himself in training and we might be down to one on the bench, I guess with Trott or Redders as an outfielder if necessary!
We're changing our back 3 completely with the three guys coming back in. This can be unsettling but they did play well together a few weeks ago so hopefully that understanding is there.
This is what I would do -
Danny
Jedi - Boogs - Viddie - Heff - - - - - - - Hutcho - Greggo - - - - - - - Gumps - - - - - - - Tommy - - - - Sasho - - - - Simon
Trott, Clark, Redders, Kwas (doubtful)
Purely because Aloisi has looked slow and tired all season, and Tommy would rip him to shreds. Ricki has been giving old Ross the full 90 every week for his leadership but as defensive midfielder I feel we could really expose him. Having TomP there moves Hutch back and allows Jedi to go to right back where Clarky shouldn't play!
More likely will be
Danny
Greggo - Boogs - Viddie - Heff
Gumps - Jedi - Hutch - Tommy
- - - - - Sasho - Matty S
Trott Clark Redders Kwas (doubtful)
This is still a great lineup, but that's the thing with our squad this year. Every player is capable and has A-League experience. The thing is picking XI of them that balance well and play together week in week out to build form and understanding. We don't have that happening and I think we will lose. Maybe 2-1.

defence is the key - we're on top because we (mostly) refuse to concede. two soft goals in the last two weeks were a kick in the guts (and cost us 4 points!) so with quality personnel back this week i think another clean sheet is the go.
sounds like mrdja is going to get an injection and a braceto try to get on the park (daily terror today, can't find a link). he and petrovski have done ok together when they've played, so welly should worry. if mrdja shows some stones and goes for it, then we could see quite a game.
if melbourne and newcastle can sort us out with some helpful results this mini-slump will be but a memory as we look to lead through the turn.
