defence is the key - we're on top because we (mostly) refuse to concede. two soft goals in the last two weeks were a kick in the guts (and cost us 4 points!) so with quality personnel back this week i think another clean sheet is the go. sounds like mrdja is going to get an injection and a braceto try to get on the park (daily terror today, can't find a link). he and petrovski have done ok together when they've played, so welly should worry. if mrdja shows some stones and goes for it, then we could see quite a game. if melbourne and newcastle can sort us out with some helpful results this mini-slump will be but a memory as we look to lead through the turn. I'm not holding my breath over Mrdja. I'm predicting: CCM 2 Matt Simon to score and someone else form the penalty spot. WP 0

Out for two weeks with a grand one hamstring tear. :-( A-a-a-a-a-a-a-nd the injuries just keep coming.....we'll be trying to coax Stewie P or Sully into action if things get any worse..... I take it the club was unsuccessful in getting Porter's red card rescinded........?

Daily Telegraph Article from yesterday;
Definitely not on the flight to Wellington will be striker Nik Mrdja, and McKinna suggested time was running out for the striker's bid to recover from his knee problem.
"We're going to rest Nik this week and try to get him back for the week after. If he's not going to come back then, we'll have to go overseas if necessary," McKinna said.

The pessimist inside me says we're going to get royally done, 2 or 3-0.
The optimist inside me hopes that QLD wins on Friday night, Perth somehow manages to force a draw against Melbourne and that Adelaide annihilate Sydney, so that we can scrape a 1-0 or 0-0.
*sings a song about Wishful Thinking*

Ugh poor form to give us O'Leary after last weeks efforts. At least he's only the 4th official this time - can't really swing the game much from there. ...Does anyone know if he has even been spoken to about that match? (Yes - i'm still bitter )

Booooo to O'Leary, hoping for a win this weekend! We have a record to maintain! If they guys played like they did on Sun (except actually getting the ball in the right side of the net) then we should be ok.

Drogba's unhappy with chelsea and wants out lets sign him singo and turnball put ya wallets together I heard that Drogba called us and said he wanted to come play in the A-League on the cheap for a break and a holiday while he reassesses his career, but unfortunately the African Cup of Nations is on in January and February so its a no go.

I am hoping we can get a win, it is important we get all three points now to stay ahead of the pack.
Also i have a random question to ask but does anyone know who's head is on the front of the wellington fan 'yellow army' shirts i have no idea and im getting sick of not knowing.

Given our injuries (not sure if Nik counts anymore) I will happily take a point on Sunday.
Can see us keeping a clean sheet with the 3 boys coming back too.
