From what I can remember when the ACL started this year with Sydney & Adelaide, it's the winner of the national domestic comp. (either GF winner or minor premiers) and/or winner of a national domestic knock out competition.
As Australia doesn't have an equivalent of th FA Cup, would the PSC count then?

no. ACL is decided on premiers and champions, and if a club does the double the runners up (i.e. grand final losers) get the second spot. that's been the case from the start, and will be for the forseeable future.

Matt Nash is from the Illawarra. Was with Port Kembla, and played NSW PL with APIA Leichhardt Tigers this season.

I still believe we should have a 32 team Australian Fa Cup Tournament. Would help to extend the season and you could use it as an ACL spot??

It's also a platform for non-a-league clubs in the lead-up to competing for the next 2 a-league spots.
And a potential way that the more ethnic clubs that'll never get an a-league spot - but who are quite historical and passionate - can be involved at a level with some serious silverware and media attention up for grabs. (if that's a good thing)

32 teams is overly exuberant. If there is a cup comp, it will liekly only have the winners from the various states. There will be no interest from fox in televising matches between 2 state league teams, and I doubt much interest from fans of a-league clubs for matches against state league teams. Hence those matches being kept to a minimum, rather than losing money on having more.

Fox already has matches between state league teams. The national 'game of the round' I think. It's on Aurora.

Aurora channel broadcasts "The Australia Football Show" which has highlights from Victoria, NSW, WA, SA and Tas premier league games. I've also seen some victorian womens league aswell and the South melbourne vs Victory match.

Sydney Get New Samba Striker

Sydney FC today completed their recruitment ahead of the new season with the signing of Brazilian striker Patrick Roberto Daniel Da Silva.
The 22-year-old forward from Sydney FC marquee man Juninho's home town of Sao Paulo put pen to paper on a one-year contract after flying into the harbour city today and passing a medical examination.

Patrick, who started his career with the world famous Sao Paulo club at which Juninho is a living legend and has also represented Vitoria (Brazil), Altamira (Mexico), Mogi Mirim (Brazil), GR Barueri (Brazil) and National Atletico Clube (Brazil), will make his first Sydney FC appearance tomorrow when his new team stages its Fan Day and Season Launch at Macquarie University Sports Fields from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Six-foot-tall Patrick is excited at the prospect of linking up with one of Brazil's all-time greats.

"Juninho's respected throughout Brazil and I can't wait to play in the same side as him," said Patrick.

Sydney FC coach Branko Culina believes that Patrick will prove to be a good acquisition for the club.

"We've got ourselves a handy striker, someone who's quick on the ground, strong in the air and skilful on the ball," said Culina. "He's an exciting player."

FFA have decided to scrap the new replacement rules!

FOOTBALL Federation Australia last night announced that it had relaxed rules for A-League injury replacement players.

The minimum injury requirement has been scrapped, as has the need to replace the player with someone playing the same position.

Previously it had to be a like- for-like replacement and the injured player had to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Juninho - shoulder. Popovic - back. Milligan and Zadkovich on Olyroos, and Bolty and Brosque on Sroos duty.

In there defense, the rule was changed before the game on Saturday, when Bling picked up those injuries.
