The Ultra's banner you have certainly gets people talking about you, but about how f***ing stupid it is. People dont see you as "taking the piss" out of other supporters groups, they see it and go "oh look, a bunch of kids trying to act tough, like those soccer gangs in europe".

Its rubbish, and always will be, no matter how much you just try and "take the piss". It tarnishes your name and the name of football in this country. f*** it off.

Thats my advise.

thats the thing, No one besides a few melbourne and Adelaide fans have realised whats its about. Other have basically just said what you did.

Anyways we have a few new banners coming along and the ultras one will dissappear soon. When the new ones are ready

And i agree that people do get shot down for there different opinion by most, but not everybody. I myself listen to every ones opinion and make my own from the information i had revieced, but im only one person

Sorry to get off topic, but it's not a song title (the name of the song you're thinking of is "I'm Gonna Be"). And I'm not ashamed of my age in knowing that, since it was released in the late 80's (<20yrs ago).

"500 miles away from home" by Ray brown & the Wispers as well as others, is what I thought was the reference......It was released in...........a bloody long time ago. Long enough ago for me to have seen Bill Haley & the Comets, The temptations & Johny O'Keef live on the same card. Real Rock n Roll back when cool dudes stepped out in flares & body shirts, the flower children escaped to Nimbin in their Combie vans & the 18 yr olds waited to see if their name was drawn for national service in Vietnam, by self righteous politicians playing lottery with their lives.

These pathetic so called "ultra would be if they could be, look at me I'm a tough guy pretender" supporters at a stinking bloody football game, make me so mad I get sick in the guts. & they have the audacity to ask why the public & media give football a hard time.

Have you had a look who stands next to the banner? Young boys and girls. Each of which wouldnt know the slightest thing about what happens in europe.

Its not just my opinion, its a lot of peoples iv spoken to. It makes it even more sad that its a bunch of young boys and girls that stand under a sign they no nothing about.

Your average person that knows nothing about football but is attending their 1st game, has still heard about all the trouble in europe, from tv news and other places. And what is an ultra? The ones causing that shit in europe. So people in Australia see it and associate the 2. Yeah, it may be on young boys and girls, but its still not cool.

There is no need for it in this country. It is a pointless banner.

If a person doesnt know about football but knows about the violence in europes then odds are they dont know 'ultras' cause it.
Let it be said that i dont think the whole ultra thing is what we should be doing as supporters and have stated this to numerous Jets supporters.

Yep they did........When they played at the old Newcastle basketball stadium it was early 70's I think, in a rock n roll revival night. I'm doing it from memory so don't be too hasrsh on me JOK's "Shout" was the highlight of the night ;D
I can still remember 20 miles well enough to hum it, & I'm sure he did a cover version of 500 miles as well, but I can't remenber how it goes.

Its not just the Ultra banner, its the attitude of a few that can destroy a whole unfortunatly.... And being spat on and hasseled, almost physically in some cases really doesn't give a supporter group a good name...

To be fair to the squadron some of those things come from those around the away bay rather than them. Still doesn't reflect to well on Newcastle fans as a whole though.

Granted I haven't had a death wish, so I am yet to walk through the squadrons bay in Newcastle.

I'm not sure what that is in reference to?
i'm assuming it is because we are reasonably young.....
if so im not sure why being young is a bad thing.
