Being a pom I'm pretty happy to see Oz still 37 runs behind England, but everyone knows what England are like! Hopefully that's all in the past and they won't collapse this time! Either way remember Oz only have to draw the series to retain the Ashes! Still anyones for taking!

What rules have England broken? I can't believe Australia hasn't even lost the ashes yet and the excuses are coming out already!

If anything it's the Aussies who have been breaking the rules......................you don't get fined for nothing!
..............................................................................................
Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been fined 75 per cent of his match fee for bringing the game into disrepute, following his second-innings dismissal during the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.
Ponting approached umpire Aleem Dar, unleashed a torrent of angry words at England's fielders and shouted abuse at the home side's balcony after being run out by a specialist substitute fielder on Saturday.
Ponting's anger stemmed from his belief that England have regularly brought on substitutes to give their bowlers a break when subs should only be used in case of injury.
In fact Gary Pratt was on the field for England fast bowler Simon Jones, who played no subsequent part in the match due to an injured right ankle.
Ponting's team mate Simon Katich was also fined half his fee for showing serious dissent over his LBW dismissal by fast bowler Steve Harmison on Sunday.

Ponting was pissed because the Aussie's work their arses off to play what I like to call 'Total Cricket.' All our players are good at every aspect of the game (although the batsman aren't showing it. Ponting obviously works his arse off to be the best fielder in the world at the same time as a great batter and the Aussie captain.

storm in a tea cup
australia should not be complaining because it is in the rules
if they are unhappy they should be doing something about getting the rule changed
just shows how much pressure ponting is under

After their bowling display in the second innings it's obvious to see that the Oval will be a great game of cricket!

at the end of the day we have still only lost our two games by three odd runs and three wickets - very close losses
so yes, the fifth should be a cracker

What do you reckon Omni play both Magill and Warne for the final test?

WT's XI
Langer Clarke Ponting Martyn Hodge Gilchrist Warne Lee Tait McGrath MacGill
Reasons:
I'd sack the rest of the batsmen if there were worthy replacements, but dropping down to 6 of them with 5 bowlers will have to do. Warney and Lee have been our best at the crease anyway so they deserve promotion.
Having less batters might put the responsibility on each of their shoulders a bit more and force some performance, in the same way to tail enders have been forced to bat to dig us out of holes this series.
Give the ever hungry Stuart a chance to really make a name for himself by winning (retaining) the ashes for australia. He knows he cant play all the time so at least if he plays he'll know its his chance to write his name in history.
Give Clarkey a chance to really shine if he thinks he deserves it.
