doesn't all the branding around rugby just sound so wanky and pretentious "imagetec central coast rays" try saying that ten times when you had a few bluetongues

This happens every time someone want to bring it up, and doesn't help people who aren't massive fans on the sport we know we love football but there's room for other sports, it seems this hostility only comes in with the Central Coast Rays, I don't see people running onto the cricket threads (welll there was a bit on the world cup) and bagging out cricket saying this is a football forum same goes for rugby league, or music or weather. Get over it people, it's on the right section of the forum, if you don't like Rugby you don't have to look at it, I don't look at Rugby League threads because I don't like the sport but if people want a space to talk about it they can have it.
(sorry to Dibo for the lack of full-stops)

well said omni.
IMO, it doesn't matter WHAT sport it is - it's great to see the coast getting national recognition.
And arguably the more teams we have to support, the more spectators will get into 'support mode', get used to having national teams, and will cross over to the other codes.

I think it may be a forum regular going under an alias as a wind-up? Either way I don't mind... I just like making fun of rugby When I first moved here I didn't even know there were two types of rugby; league and union. How strange is it that they have TWO sports where they run with the ball to the end of the field... and back... and bash into each other?!

I like rugby -used to play it actually. However last weekend I was watching USyd v Easts on ABC and it struck me that it's a lot like watching U/16s play soccer - full backs just boot it to each other for a while until somebody runs it out of sheer boredom

(sorry to Dibo for the lack of full-stops) Omni, I get your point, but as Dibo said later, 'theman' only posts about Rugby. It is like he sees the Coast community on this forum and wants to spam the rugby onto us. While it is noble of the Mods and the regulars on this Forum to accept posts about other sports, I wonder how long a post about *cough* 'sokkah' would last on an NRL forum, or an AFL forum? (even a post from one of their regulars) If the poster didn't set the post into an asbestos suit, I'm thinking all you'd see is charred remains from all the flaming. Note to self: Must try registering on the Canterbury Bulldogs forum and having a go mentioneing Football!

Pete, your assumption below I can say with 100% certainty is wrong. " I wonder how long a post about *cough* 'sokkah' would last on an NRL forum, or an AFL forum? Regards,

Regards, Fair enough then..... Given the rabid response one sees about Football from AFL and NRL media commentators I was expecting the same animosity and the same old catchcries (game for pooftahs and wogs) that I've copped a million times before.

Adz , great photo shop !! Its looks like Peter Steele or Adam Winter!
I thought this was a " Other stuff" thread?
The Rays will be great for the Mariners and vice versa
John McKay has done a great job considering how tough the coast is.
Anything to keep that awful NRL off the coast the better!
