Happy with either Friday night or Saturday night. Just thank feck that there are no more trips to Pittwater. The overlords at Fox will be the big decider. Ahh the memory of Shitwater park, on the plus side it gave Northern Spirit FC 1 season more than they were probably looking at, on the downside just a absolute pr!ck to get to for most people sans car. As for the Gametime for the CC Mariners prefer around 7pm (or if need be Sunday Afternoon), hopefully Fox decide that most of the Sydney FC games will be Wednesday night (save Fox travelling costs)

While the leagues club and the union hotel is the cheapest I vote for Iguanas. It still a very short walking distance, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the view and atmosphere is excellent. Iggy's sounds great! ;D The Union sounds great! Beer sounds great! Cheers!

The ASA said that no two games will be played at the same time.
With Newcastle United and Adelaide already having the runs on the board with Friday nights I don't think the Mariners will be able to get this spot.
I'm tipping Saturday night games

Just thought I'd clear up a few misconceptions here. Central Coast Leagues Club just across the road from the stadium was established in 1954 as the Central Coast League of Clubs and according to recent annual reports financially supports a large number of Central Coast sporting groups and associations from lawn bowls, chess & baseball to union, football/football AND rugby league.
Just thought I'd clear up the misleading name so that should you guys choose to wet a parched throat elsewhere, it would be for the right reasons.*S*
The Leagsie has by far the cheapest beer at $2.90 for members or $3.30 for visitors. As membership for one year is $4.40 it would be recommended to join if you intend having more than 11 schooners through the season.
Igauanas definately has the location covered down on the waterfront, though it is not on the way back to the station, rather in the opposite direction and a schooner is about $1 more expensive. Plenty of room here though.
The Union is a bit of a dive, but has cheap prices in the afternoons. Together with Duttons, and the Gosford, they are on the way back to the station (more or less), but any more than 75 people would start to feel crowded.
Still, plenty of time to sort these things out....
Looking forward to kick off.

OK, only two weekends until the first game for Central Coast United (NSWPL) at Express Advocate Stadium! Great opportunity for Mariners fans to meet up! The game is vs Sydney Crescent Star at 7pm on Saturday 11th December. I'm coming up with my 17 yo daughter and her boyfriend - not legally able to go to the pub alas. Perhaps meet up at Iguana Joes at 5:00 ish. Then I would suggest we all meet up at Bay 20/21 at 6:30pm.

What about Bay 16? That would seem the logical place?
You can bring the underagers to Iguanas as along it is before 9pm and they are with a legal adult.
Trent and I will be playing in Sydney so we won't be able to get there until kick-off.

Was thinking the same thing in regards to bay 16, however not 100% sure if that is classed a "dry" area or not

What about Bay 16? That would seem the logical place? I just suggested 20/21 as a place to meet - that was well away from other fans (which it will be for the Coasties game) and therefore easy to meet up. I wasn't proposing it as the place for the game. I must say at this point that I find directly behid the goal, when you are that far from the play as at CCAS, is a shit place to watch a game. Better to be near a corner flag (eg. as in both the Bob & McCartney's at NSO. At Breakers we were only a few metres from play. At Parra Bay 41 was well positioned, as was 69 where the Rowdies/Spirit fans went. I would suggest trying to get the club next year to assign say 10 or 24 for the rowdy fans.

Attention Coast Rowdies!
The game for Central Coast United at Express Advocate Stadium which was to on at 7pm on Saturday 11 December, has been moved due to the rotten surface on Express Advocate Stadium after the Motorcross!
It is now being played at Lidcombe (Crescent Star's home ground) on Sunday 12th Dec at 6pm.
Next game at Gosford is scheduled:
Sat 15-Jan-05 Central Coast United v Bankstown City Lions -Central Coast Stadium 7:00pm
See you at Iguana Joes at 5pm on that day!

Sounds like good advice from someone that knows both the stadium layout and the vocal supporters requirments! So which is it 10, or 24? What are the pros and cons of these two, and what makes these closer to the action than say 16?

I would prefer to be directly behind the goals.
How else will we give the away keeper shit!

I've just joined and looking forward to boozing (in moderation) up for the ccmfc home games.
Most of you sound like your not from the Coast, so I would like to put in my 2 cents and clear the issue of a drinking hole.
Iguanas is not on. The stadium is about a km from the train station and iguanas is another half a k. Im not walking that far for a dearer drink with a bunch of sheep trying to be trendy in the place to be seen on the water.
Im a football fan and want to be seen in a football den. I say the best place is Gosford Hotel. Its between the station and stadium and is a real mans drinking den, not a trendy sheep barn.
The club will probably organise gatherings at the leagues club (not a rugby league club) for fans to meet the players so that will be the choice to drink at after the game.
Hope this helps.

As a relatively frequent visitor of the stadium I believe that there isn't much difference between a corner type area and directly behind the goals as far as viewing goes. I reckon that since our stadium is unique in that only one goal has seating behind it, it would be silly to not use this to our advantage by setting up camp there.
We would be the only trip opposition supporters make where they cant give our players any shit in goalmouth situations, and by NOT sitting there we give visiting supporters the chance to own the only behind the goals area all match.
As far the drinking hole.....everyone back to my place!

If we don't get the behind goals area then the opposition supporters will and this will be a disaster.
As for drinking holes we already said Gosford Hotel is the place to be before hand.
The post match functions will not be held at the Leagues Club but rumoured to be at Iguanas.
The difference in drink prices at Iguanas is only slight and I would rather spend a balmy Saturday evening out on the deck at Iguanas then the Leagues Club or Gosford Hotel.
Better talent, better atmosphere, and not really that far to go back to the station. In fact, Iguanas have a shuttle bus that will take you back to the station when you want.
I have this great vision now of the supporters after the game walking along Dane Drive waterfront to Iguanas singing and chantinga victory over Newcastle United, and with all the traffic beeping us as we walk along.

I wasn't aware of the shuttle bus.
I think Gosford hotel before the game and Iguanas after is a good solution and compromise. Give me a few drinks and a victory and I won't care where I am after the game.
I can also picture in mind a victory march after defeating NJFC.
I also think its a great idea to take ownership of the behind goal area. That way we can tease and taunt the opposition players and spectators from all directions, and it would be a definite advantage to our boys.

If we're talking about where to sit at the Central Coast Stadium for Central Coast United matches, then I think we'll find that only a small section of the Stadium is open. They usually only open the whole Stadium for fixtures where a crowd of more than ten thousand is expected (well, that's my estimate anyway). So, we'll have our pick of the entire Stadium at Central Coast Mariners matches, but not necessarily at Central Coast United matches.
From my experience, the Central Coast Stadium is usually open only on the western side for smaller matches. And for such matches, I don't think the area behind the northern goals is usually open either.
Over to you all as to where to meet up for the Central Coast United match on 15 January!

Central Coast United coach Grant Lee stated tonight (Mon 3/1/05) on The Football Show - Sydney 90.1 FM - that the game on Saturday 15th January vs Bankstown City Lions will be on at 7pm that night at Central Advocate Stadium.
Looking good for meeting up that night!
