Great to see a Forum for the CCMFC! Can't wait for the comp to start. If any details of season tickets become available post them ASAP.
I would expect quite a number of disgruntled Newcastle Uknighted haters will throw their support behind the Central Coast team.
For those intending to provide some vocal support a question. What is the best area of the stadium to stand/sit? I would think behind the goals on the water side of the ground. That way you would have the 'Southerly winds' behind you, which would help projecting the sound across the stadium. Also, it would be looking away from the setting sun (I think?). Any thoughts?

I've moved onto other things now (ie music) but if i'm doing nothing else i'll consider it... I think a large part of the footballing fan base is like that at present. Anyway with a more developed interest in music, what better person to lead the chants, and give the note for the terrace songs? As for 'far', don't give me 'far'! - now let me tell you ..... As for Mr Celery's question about where the 'Coast Rowdies' might gather, I am not sure if that southern end is open. I'll be near there on business on Thursday so I'll have a look. The north-east corner bays (nearest the CCL Club) were not too bad - if security is placated through the club and it isn't 'dry' -nice acoustic backing board!

I'd be thrilled to be part of the Central Coast Rowdies experience, having been an apprentice Rowdie in the days of Newcastle KB United and a Rowdie-from-afar in the last couple of Newcastle Breakers' seasons.
Living on the Central Coast these days, I can't wait to get behind a local team in what we hope will be a strong and competitive national league. The Central Coast Express Advocate Stadium truly is one of the best sporting facilities in the land, and it has pained me to see it become almost a white elephant over the last couple of years. Can't wait to see it turned into the fortress of the Central Coast boys.
Let's hope some good-natured but serious rivalries eventuate between fans of opposing clubs. No doubt there will be a little niggle between our supporters and Newcastle's. Maybe we can get up the noses of the Sydney club's supporters too!
As for where to base the rowdy supporters' group in the stadium - I agree with Kevrenor. There's certainly something to be said for the cheap seats behind the goal at the northern end. Provided, that is, that the area is not designated alcohol free, as it has been on other occasions at the stadium. Not that I am an advocate of drunken hooliganism. Oh no. It's just that a little liquid lubrication before the match improves my singing abilities (or maybe just my perceptions thereof) no end!

You can't sit on behind the goals on the water end because there is just a fence and pine trees there.
It will have to be behind the goals at the other end.
I think that will be the perfect spot.

Hey Mick, there should be an option in the Admin area where you can make it so that users must be logged in before they post.
I'm assuming your the Admin anyway.
I'm looking forward to some good CCMFC - NUFC derbies.
What do yous reckon the crowds will be like on the Coast?? I know United visited there a few seasons back and got 6,000.
I'd say that there would be a lot more people there to support a local team though.

I'm actually not the adminsistrator.
Chris, over to you.
Having a national soccer team on the Coast will generate an enormous amount of goodwill. With the recent decisions by union and league not to have teams on the coast the Mariners are in prime position to start building a parochial fan base.
The Central Coast is a young area where traditionally people came too spend time in their holiday houses. With the urban sprawl from Sydney reaching the Coast we now have more and more residents living here.
Given it is a relatively new area the Central Coast is lacking of substantial culture and pride in their city - certainly far less than Newcastle.
People here are crying out for culture and crying out for avenues in which to be passionite about the Central Coast and who the people are.
This will be the first thing the Central Coast can support on a national basis and to say how proud we are of the area and our people.
Coupled with a very strong football community and a large British ex-pat community, I have no doubt the team will be a major success.
Bring it on.

Bring it on! I've only been on the Coast for 6 months and was a regular at NSO with Spirit from early season 1. I'm looking forward to the banter with the ex-Mac (Spirit) lads when Sydney FC roll into town...

It's just that a little liquid lubrication before the match improves my singing abilities (or maybe just my perceptions thereof) no end! A Rowdie without a 'bevvie' is a bit like a car without petrol! Count me out if I can't get access to a few ales to loosen the vocal chords. In moderation of course. Which brings me to the next question. What drinking hole near the ground would be best for setting up 'Rowdie Headquarters'. Somewhere close and informal where the vocal supporters can celebrate great victories over that imposter club Newcastle Uknighted.

dont drink too much celery, if you have to drive back up to Newcastle
you should sing (and not win)
anyways, I would not give the CC an APL chance.
Good luck anyhow.
You have bailed out of a lot of the hard times of NSL football.
I did not see you anywhere during the wilderness years.
If the CC gets in, it will not be a reward for singing, or dancing, it will be a reward for people that have stuck to FOOTBALL thru think and thin, and made the chance of the New CC a reality.
good luck mate. dj

OK, there are a couple of options:
- The Central Coast Leagues Club - Union hotel - Duttons - Gosford Hotel - Iguanas Waterfront Bar
While the leagues club and the union hotel is the cheapest I vote for Iguanas. It still a very short walking distance, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the view and atmosphere is excellent.

Actually thinking about it properly I change my vote to the Union Hotel, although I imagine the post-match players' functions will be at the Leagues Club.
The Union is near the stadium and train station so those catching the train can stop at the Union on the way to the stadium and on the way back.
The drinks are really cheap and it is as dingey as hell. It has a dodgey reputation but sometimes this is not deserved.
Anyway we will all be together.
I just don't like the idea of supporting the Leagues Club even though it is across the road.
If they put in big dollars for the Mariners that will have to be an option.

Leagues Club? Heaven forbid. That would be like supporting Newcastle Uknighted and their Rugby League connections.
'Atmospheric' is a key word here - somewhere that won't mind, nay encourage, some sing-a-longs. Somewhere that will accoustically improve my tone-deaf voice!
And the beer has to taste OK too!
Speaking of the train. Getting to the game (if heading south) you have the choice of the 4.37pm from Newcastle for those that want to watch the Youth Squad, or 5.27pm, which gets you into the stadium at 7pm - just in time for a pie, chips, beer and the National Anthem.
Friday nights you'd catch the 4.43pm early train or the 5.23pm or 5.36pm. You could also catch the 6.02pm fast train, but that gets you there right on kickoff and you have to change at Wyong.
Gettiong home - if the Club plays on Saturday night, you have (if heading north) the choice of the 9.39pm, 10.42pm, or 11.43pm home.
Should they play on Friday nights you've the choice of 10.39pm, 11.40pm or 12.43pm which seems better.

You've got it all worked out, Mr Celery. Well done! I take it you won't be driving down for matches, then? Wise idea, when you take all that lubrication into consideration.
Hopefully one of our Sydney-based mates can do a similar trainspotting guide for southerly Central Coast Mariners supporters.
So, the jury is still out on the best place to drink? I am most likely to vote for Iguana Joe's, but only because the Union has such a dodgy reputation (probably undeserved, as Mariner Mick says). But really, I will drink anywhere.

Gooday y'all. Count me in for all these pre season and pre/post match throat lubricating exercises. A topic close to my heart. OK, there are a couple of options: - The Central Coast Leagues Club Hmm. An obvious turn off due to it's very nature but it would surely be the biggest, cheapest and most convenient location, and likely to attract a lot of people pre/post game. Apart from it's apparent dinginess and general appearancce as the most likely place to score a foil from a bikey, solid location I suppose. It doesn't really seem quite big enough though? Don't know this one? This is the one across the road from the station on Mann St, yeah? Even though most people, travelling fans from both clubs, who get off the train would walk south down the alley parallell to the train line and not see this pub, it is a good spot with lots of room, and the beer garden out back (complete with thingyy in a cage) wouldn't be a bad spot. This would probably be my preferred choice for summertime beers. By far the nicest place and, from what I have seen incidently, showcases some of the finest female species the coast has to offer. Underestimate the worth of this at your own peril. I agree.

Looks like it is becoming a showdown between the Union Hotel and Iguanas.
If the Mariners play on a Friday night then Iguanas is out after the game. They have their R&B night and a cover charge.
If it is a Saturday night then Iguanas is the way to go as they have excellent cover bands and it is free and open til late.
Maybe the Union before the game and Iguanas after?

From my observations Mick, one thing about the Union is it's not likely to be an attractive venue for any females we may choose to drag along, if you know what I mean.
In fact, I often drive past with my missus and she has at times made several comments that she wouldn't go inisde that joint if her bum was on fire and it was the last place on earth with water.
I'm still not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, but, besides Iguana Joe's as my first choice, I would probably lean towards the Gosford Hotel. Close to trains, close to cabs, nice enviroment and still only a 4 minute walk from the stadium.
If only the leagues club had nothing to do with Rugby League, or in fact offered the Mariners something, so we didn't feel like we were tossing money into the coffers of another code. Perhaps if the Mariners or a supporters group were to approach them?

Oh, and one other thing;
This venue should perhaps have suitable TV screens, obviously along with foxtel, should the supporters group ever want to join together and watch away games over a few beers.

You've got it all worked out, Mr Celery. Well done! I take it you won't be driving down for matches, then? Wise idea, when you take all that lubrication into consideration. Driving is an option of course, but I dread to think where to park if the crowds are large. The roads to the stadium are also not exactly freeway standard, and can be really slow-going.
