Bands these days can't think of their own names so they have to steal others who already have identity crisis's of their own. What's the world coming to?

Good one Donny! There's an article below on Donny Parkes in Germany. Photo shows him trying to the turn the already yellow shirted Covers to the light side! Happy birthday mate! www.smh.com.au/news/aussie-update/diehard-don-sees-his-support-bear-fruit/2006/06/15/1149964673754.htmlDiehard Don sees his support bear fruit Storytime .. superfan Don Parkes holds court. Photo: Tim Clayton Matthew Hall in Oehringen June 16, 2006 THERE was a birthday party at the Socceroo fans' campsite in Ohrnberg on Wednesday. Don Parkes turned 72 and celebrated by drinking an apple juice with Australian fans a generation or two, or maybe even three, younger than himself. Parkes, a former ground announcer for the St George-Budapest club in Sydney, turned up in Oehringen's main square late on Tuesday afternoon. He had travelled to Germany from Woy Woy on his own. Before finding the campsite, Parkes spent Tuesday night, the eve of his birthday, on a spare bed in an Oehringen hotel room. Ted Smith, who played football for Australia at the 1956 Olympics, took pity on him and offered to share his room. "We gave them a few drinks so they both got a good sleep," said Andre Krueger, the German Socceroo fan who took on the role of matchmaker. Back in Australia, Parkes is a member of his local A-League club, the Central Coast Mariners and is patron of The Marinators, the team's supporter group. Local rivalries were set aside on his birthday at the campsite, where he held court in front of a group of Sydney fans, members of The Cove, entertaining all with tales of travelling the world watching the Socceroos, from Canada to New Zealand, and now Germany. "On many occasions I was the sole Socceroo supporter," Parkes said. "There were the officials, the players, the media, and there was me. I was the only one in the group paying my own way. But I never lost faith in Australia. I knew qualification could happen, but I never thought it would happen in my time." The Sydney fans sang Happy Birthday for Parkes at Ohrnberg. No one realised it, but we were watching a changing of the guard. The blokes who supported "soccer" when it was a sport for "sheilas, wogs, and poofters," can move on happy. The use-by date of the nay-sayers, those who probably still use the term, is also looming very, very, large.

That's the nicest article. Good on ya Donny! I might be wrong but I thought on the Awards night (the day he'd booked the ticket to Germany) he said that he bought a package, flights, tickets and accommodation. He also said it was expensive. Hope he's okay. It sort of sounded like maybe he got a tiny bit lost. Now, SBS should interview him.
