The express is usually good. There has been one other article which was negative which featured a "other things you could do for (insert number of minutes we hadnt scored for)"

Lovely stuff lads.
I reckon it's well catchy and probably more melodic than many of the chants. Also, because it can go on and on, could be the best antidote for their (admittedly also melodic and unfortunately powerful) Hey Jude / Sydney.
Pitty the game's tomorrow. More time to work it in and sell it to the whole crowd would have even better but I'll try to help crank it from 40.

I think the Express chants should truly get a run too

Just got my interweb back on and home and loaded those video's up.........
Holy mother of Immaculate Christ. Incredible. Imagine that done for 10 straight minutes to just completely drown out the Cove......... scratch that, ANY visting fans - and having it involve the rest of the stadium. Crazy shit!!!

This chants gonna rock.... Gotta do it before the match to build up atmosphere - conductors and big voices have gotta keep this one rolling!!! God, listening to that has made me so pumped for the game (probably shouldn't have listened to it just before going to bed in that case )

Me and my friend went to the front of bay 16 today (second row), and we were basically the only ones standing for the full 90. We also got told to 'sit down' before the match, but we just moved to the side a few seats so not the obstruct the sleepy ones. Anyway that was the first time my friend sat in bay 16 - thugh he's been to nearly if not all mariners home games and he enjoyed the atmosphere. So did I...

Mariners4ever,
Auburn was there, up the back enjoying the game, but I had driven 5 hours to get to the ground and I am also unwell. I tried to rev up a bit in the second half, but every loud chant was followed by a coughing fit.
I actually enjoyed watching others (Serious, J Edgar, PermBoy, Tiger, Dru & Dibo) lead the group.
I hope I'm better next week. I will make sure that I will be heard. Sorry about tonight.
Regards,
AM

'Sit down' ?? f*** me!~ 'dickhead!, dickhead!, .....'!! I told them that it was a stand bay and ignored them. Not much of the swearing type... Still annoyed me. They dissappeared after half-time. At least some people from my school two-three rows back were 'semi-vocal', and weren't sitting down from what I saw of them. It was my second time in bay 16 - often sit all around the stadium. Last match it was bay 52...

Good start for the chant, worked well.
Bay 15 is now up to 3 rows standing and starting chants when 16 goes quiet.
Building from the back seems to be working.

i think this is now the de facto 'we talk about new chants here' thread, so i'm gonna transport a few convos about a chant from an older thread (i.e. about last week's game) to here. i just don't wanna see (what i see as) good ideas fall by the wayside. the green and gold army used to sing 'we are australian', but it hasn't been sung for ages, i think mostly because people find it a little tacky. it's too short a step from there to group hugs. i don't know why, but i feel like the last line is a little weak - winning the a-league is the big whopper, not bringing it home. last two lines... 'coastie boys and girls' sounds just too... i dunno, it's like being back at school. it'd be good to see it muscled up a little. if i get some time, i'll try to pop something out. i really want something like this to work well - the call and response chants are loud and easy to learn (follow the leader... duh...). i really want to put some meat into this one though, my comments above stand. have been thinking about a new song as well (or a variation on one we do anyway...). could even meld it into the one you've got serious? call - CEEEEENTRAL COOOOOAST!!! response- (CEEEEENTRAL COOOOOAST) call - SCORE US A GOOOOOOAL!!!! response- (SCORE US A GOOOOOOAL!!!!) call - WIN US THE A-LEAGUE!!! response - (WIN US THE A-LEAGUE!!!) call - AND BRING IT ON HOOOME!!!! response- (AND BRING IT ON HOOOME!!!!)
[to the tune of the choruses in 'yellow submarine' - maybe jumping in time (arms over your neighbour's shoulders), or spinning scarves?] ole ole ole ole ooooooooh mariners
ole ole ole ole ooooooooh mariners
[naturally segue into...] we all follow a yellow football team a yellow football team a yellow football team
we all follow a yellow football team a yellow football team a yellow football team
it's simple, and we could even repeat it if we wanted to keep noise going for a while...
feel free to throw rocks at me if it's shit.earlier i'd suggested that we build on 'yellow football team', and perhaps link it to serious's ideas for a new call and response chant. i'd love to roll through something like this - call-response -> ole part to the verse tune of 'yellow submarine' -> the normal yellow submarine (though clapping overhead for visuals would be neat) -> call and response... i'd like to see this one pick up, but do something like bay 15 leading us, then bay 16 following. could be something to pick up the noise in bay 15? or front of bay to back of bay? (slow, steady tempo) And its Central Coast Mariners Central Coast Mariners FC We are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen Central Coast Mariners Central Coast Mariners FC this is set to be a deadset ripper if we get it rolling. this one has the tunesimple, good.hey marinators? hey central coast? come on the yellows? it'd take a few times through for people to learn the tune (though it is pretty simple), but once the tune takes it could go really well. this could be a great jumping song. jump up you yellows? hey central coast boys? simply drag out the co-oast for 'hey central co-oast'? if we're keen, we can give it a roll on sunday.
