Simple sing-along..... We are the Mariners The Mighty Mariners We are mental, and we are mad We're marching onwards To win the A-League And we're the greatest Team in the land Good stuff. Barmy Army have a "we are the army, the barmy army®...." etc. chant that they keep going and going and going.. sounds better if you can keep it going for 10 minutes tho....! Another one is when you sing "stand up for the Mariners", sing "sit down for the Mariners" first, everyone sit down, then "stand up for the Mariners". It looks funny having the whole bay sit down then stand up again ;D.

Twas to the Tune of "paino man" by Billy Joel. Shows how much I know about what young whippersnappers listen to these days. Or alternatively, shows how much I could hear when the bongo's go non-stop. i.e. not much at all. Carnivale is cool and all, but the drums should compliment any chants and/or songs, not over-ride them.

I was very near to the drums and had a lot of difficulty picking up many of the chants.

I had a lot of trouble hearing some of the chants with the bongos going all the time..and I was one of the drummers I kept quiet a fair bit I thought simply cause either a) there was no chant going or b) I couldnt hear it. I think we need to spread the drums out in the bay...mine is by far the loudest and deepest and hence should be at the back but the "Marinators" drum which is a bit quieter but still with some depth should be in the middle while the bongos, with volume and relatively high pitch should be down the front...basically a drum with each group/conductor...thats my two cents anyway.

I think it's up to the drummers to position themselves wherever they have to to be able to pick up on chants and silences. They need to play accordingly. On Sunday, they unfortunately didn't and it probably hindered things a bit.

Nice to have more on board trying to come up with other chants NS

Note re chants - simple, repetitive, easy to sing.
When the game is on, their isnt much chance of getting through a whole song because all it takes is something to happen on the pitch and everyone stops the chant.
Its getting there, conducters still need to be across far enough to goad the corpses in bay 15. Go the guy who tried from the middle, we are up the back and its hard enough.
Maybe we could get CCSE to chant, or stand, or something. If they are who we think they are, they are about 15 year 8 and 9 kids towards the front of bay 15. Including the guy who got chucked out v the Bling. If that isnt them, sincere apologies
