Love it! Infectious tune, easy to sing (once you get to critical mass). Might be tough to start up intially - a few beers might help. YELLOW - YEAH - YELLOW YELLOW - YELLOW (Then same but lower tone) YELLOW - YEAH - YELLOW YELLOW - YELLOW (lower tone) MA-RI-NERS-FC! Needs two groups with the 2nd coming in quickly at the end with 'Mar-in-ers-FC' part for it to work correctly. But you could vary it slightly to allow time to draw breath for the final part. You could even start relatively normal volume and gradually increase the volume, especially the 'Mar-in-ers-FC' part, just like the 'Sing a little louder - We are the Mariners' song. |

Yeah I like it - to get everyone used to it will take time (like EIEIEIO) but it will be awesome when the whole bay are chanting

Sounds great Lou! Those of us in Bay 40 will help to get it going if we hear it!
As an aside are we going to do the "mariners clap clap clap" on corners and free kicks?
I thought it worked really well when we did it (I missed last week) and got a lot of the stadium involved. Happy to start it in bay 40 but it would work better if bay 16 start it and we pick it up.
thoughts?

I havent been able to find the actualy wording for the whole quote, but what about adapting Mohammed Alis's famous "The Champ is here" and even maybe his "Float like a butterfly"
The first is easy enough:
"The Coast are here (clap clap, clap clap)" repeated with the drums would work really well and you could even change the wording further depending on whats happening
"The coast have scored (clap clap, clap clap)" etc etc.

I must say listening to the new chant and watching the You tube, I got shivers up my spine.
I like them they are simple you can pick it up easy and its a song that focuses on cheering the team on. It does not slag off the other team ( as it does get very repetive some weeks).
Bring on Sunday i'm very excited.

I just get all the Jest crap instead. I thought you'd be gettting good press in Gosford. I'm tuned to Central Coast radio, and that seems relatively free of thuggery league, and has plenty of 'Go Mariners' stories. Not so for the papers? |
