But it works both ways.....when heff goes looking for goals he leaves a massive whole at the back Yea you are right about that, but we probally wouldnt have made the grand final without some of those lost minute goals from heff Then u have those last minute goals we conceded from poor defence

Good luck to the both of them! It will be a damn shame to see one of them leave, let alone both. If anyone gets a good enough offer to leave the club, good on them. I hope every player we have gets decent offers from other teams, Australian or otherwise. Means the club, or Lawrie are doing something right. AND THAT HAS TO BE A VERY, VERY GOOD THING!!!

Central Coast Mariners defenders Michael Beauchamp and Dean Heffernan are set to leave Australia for a 10-day trial with Bundesliga outfit 1.FC Nürnberg.
The pair, who were two of the stars as the Mariners reached the A-League Grand Final, leave Sydney on Tuesday and will play for Nürnberg’s reserves against FC Ismaning on Sunday (local time).
"This is an excellent opportunity for both Michael and Dean and one that they thoroughly deserve after the seasons they've had," said Mariners football manager Lawrie McKinna.
"The Bundesliga is one of the top leagues in the world, let alone Europe and Michael and Dean have shown enough this season to suggest to the people at 1.FC Nürnberg that they are worthy of competing at their level."
Nürnberg is currently 12th in the Bundesliga, and McKinna says the trial offers the pair a great opportunity.
"Both players are right in the frame for national team selection ahead of the World Cup and the Bundesliga would be an ideal stage for them to state their case to (Socceroos coach) Guus Hiddink," said McKinna.
"Although we'd love to see Michael and Dean in Central Coast Mariners colours for a long time, we appreciate that opportunities such as this do not come along too often and we wish both of them the very best in their travels."
"At the Central Coast Mariners, we feel it's important that players can come here and know that we will do all that we can to help them fulfil their professional ambitions."

They need to take every opportunity that comes their way and if this means them leaving the mariners then so be it, They have played good football while they have been with the mariners so there career can only get better.
Good luck boys and all the best

a perfect club for them to trial with. midtable in a medium-to-strong league. if they impress, they could be starters within 6 or 12 months, and the quality is high enough that the next step up is the very top.

There's no news yet, didn't they only leave last Monday for a 10 day trial, it isn't until the end of the trial that they play a game.

I think they played in this game .. Heff was telling me they were playing an MLS team on Sunday.....
Nurnberg, Germany (March 19, 2006)-In their final German exhibition match of the preseason, the Kansas City Wizards tied 1st FC Nurnberg's Test Club 1-1 at Easy-Credit Stadium. With the draw, Kansas City ends its German preseason schedule 2-0-1.
Davy Arnaud put the Wizards on the board in the 50th minute to give KC a 1-0 lead, but Nurnberg's Thomas Paulus scored the equalizer later in the second half to force the draw.
Kansas City will remain in Germany to train for two more days and return to the United States on Wednesday, March 22nd.
Once they return to Kansas, the Wizards will prepare for their final exhibition match before the start of the 2006 season, the Saturn Challenge Cup against FC Dallas in Oklahoma City this Saturday 35th at 7:35 p.m.
But before Kansas City takes the field against Dallas, four Wizards will be suiting up for the United States' World Cup squad against Germany in Dortmund, Germany on Thursday, March 23rd. Forwards Josh Wolff and Eddie Johnson, along with midfielder Kerry Zavagnin and defender Jimmy Conrad will be putting on the red, white, and blue in the U.S.'s final international friendly before head coach Bruce Arena names his roster for this summer's World Cup.

i just found this, when trying to find info on the game kc.wizards.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/team_news.jsp?ymd=20060315&content_id=53847&vkey=news_kcw&fext=.jsp&team=kcwThe Kansas City Wizards warmed up the frigid weather Tuesday in Bavaria with some offensive firepower in a 3-1 victory against the amateur side of 1. FC Nürnberg in an exhibition in Nürnberg. Temperatures hovered around the freezing mark as the Wizards scored two goals in the first 20 minutes. Josh Wolff slotted a shot past the Nürnberg goalkeeper in the eighth minute for the game's first goal. Scott Sealy played the final ball from the corner of the penalty area to Wolff in the area. Sasha Victorine volleyed home the second goal in the 20th minute from Eddie Johnson's pass, placing a shot in the upper corner of the goal. Nürnberg pulled one of the goals back in the 36th minute, converting a penalty kick after Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad was called for a foul in the area. The Wizards final goal came in the 85th minute from Johnson. He maneuvered past a couple of Nürnberg defenders and chipped a shot over the goalkeeper. The ball for Johnson's goal was fed to him by Jose Burciaga Jr., who intercepted a clearing pass from the Nürnberg defense and played a high ball to Johnson. Burciaga also had a hand in the other two Wizards goals. He played a ball from the back that found Sealy, who passed to Wolff for the first goal. On the second goal, Burciaga whipped a cross to the far post for Johnson, who played it first time to Victorine for the goal. The Wizards continue their trip to Germany with a game against Regionalliga (third division) club Regensberg on Wednesday before taking on the senior Nürnberg side - which plays in the Bundesliga -- on Sunday. The Nürnberg amateur side plays in the Bavarian section of the Oberliga, or fourth division. Wizards coach Bob Gansler has all of his players from which to choose a lineup for the trip. Gansler has said that one the primary purposes of the trip is to give the starting 11 a chance to work together in game situations. The starting lineup included rookie Matt Groenwald at right back, fourth-year midfielder Jack Jewsbury, who has started 22 times in three previous seasons, and Sealy, who teamed with Wolff and Johnson in the attack. Wizards lineup: Bo Oshoniyi (Will Hesmer 45), Jose Burciaga Jr. (Stephen Shirley 85), Nick Garcia (Ryan Raybould 69), Jimmy Conrad, Matt Groenwald (Shavar Thomas 45), Kerry Zavagnin (Jermaine Hue 80), Sasha Victorine (Alex Zotinca 45), Jack Jewsbury (Lance Watson 45), Scott Sealy (Davy Arnaud 45), Eddie Johnson, Josh Wolff.
