Good afternoon all I'm Tom, from the little island of the UK, up North in Billingham. Near Middlesbrough. Where Tony Vidmar used to play Anyway, this seems to be the thread for introductions, so here I am. Big Middlesbrough fan (my usual username would be boromadloon, but that didn't really seem applicable here, so I have a slightly more rubbish one), and have recently become a fan of the Central Coast. Still an amatuer though. Anyway, I'll try and get to know you all. Oh, and I don't actually have a proper posh English accent. Or say 'Good Afternoon all' on a regular basis.

Welcome aboard Tom. How did you end up choosing CC Mariners FC? was it just the Tony Vidmar connection or something else as well?

Welcome aboard Tom. How did you end up choosing CC Mariners FC? was it just the Tony Vidmar connection or something else as well? Nah, Vidmar just wasn't quite inspiring enough during his Premiership days for me to follow his career. He was a bit mistake-prone at the time. It was on another forum I post on, we ran an 'Adopt an A-League team', and I was given the Mariners, so I've taken up following them. Australia just amazed me a bit anyway... I think the person who planned it was clever... ex-Boro player, still rivals with a team called Newcastle, and from what I've been able to see so far, good emphasis on the local lads.

There wasn't much support for the idea tbh... The appeal of Australia just hasn't really hit England. There was just 8 people wanting to be involved.
But, every little helps.

Thought I should come in and say hello. I've posted a couple of times last night but thought I should head to the welcome section as well.
My family and I are Mariners Members (8 in total including in laws). Would love to see some bigger crowds but I agree we are getting there. I used to live on the Coast but now live at Cooranbong but most people up this way don't support SCUM......
