Ah its good to have the familiar banter of frustrated park footballers back again. After much soul searching, i have decided to throw my weight behind the mariners, as i refuse to follow anything that plays out of the SFS. Good to see a few familiar names on the forum too. And to all the new blokes, looking forward to many a drunken night on the terraces.

looking forward to many a drunken night on the terraces. The drunken part may be a bit hard for me. I'd have to take the 10:51 train back to Sin City and hope it's less than 20 minutes late to get home at around 1am.

Hi everyone. This is going to be great. I can feel it in my bones. We are going to have the best supporters in the league. We already have the best ground for facilities and atmosphere and we are perfectly positioned between two other clubs. Cant wait!!!! ;D

I felt really sad when I heard the news.
I saw Johnny Warren at the media launch last Monday.
I really wanted to get a photo with him before he passed away, but I felt guilty having these thoughts and didn't ask.

Indeed it was sad news. Just remember that Mr. Warren did want this team to exist and succeed. To reveal myself I am a union supporter (and referee) I would love a S14 team here (but the ARU did make the right decision) but I do like Football. Leeds is my English club (I'm embarrassed too) and I am pumped for this new league. I know this club won't break my heart like a certain Northern Beaches Rugby League club that will reamin nameless (That say I left RL for good). Good to see the long suffering Coast sport fans (not just football fans) finally have a team to call their own. I think we where getting too desperate (ICE HOCKEY? WTH? ?)

Nice call OMNI, I too was wondering if we were all to turn into Ice Hockey enthusiasts just to see a Central Coast Team compete Nationally. Intrestingly I am hearing 2 points of view on the Coast at the moment. 1. Mostly Older + 40 NRL & UNION SUPPORTERS. "Ho - Hum" heard this all before about wogball, I might go and watch, but I'll wait and see. 2. 17 - 30 year old Male & Female Sportslovers. "Awesome" Our own team at last, where do I get tickets ? or Where do I try out ? How do I find out more. This is the group that will perform beyond expectations as far as turning up to watch our team. The others will start to turn up as the interest in the team grows.

your embrassed omni im a qpr fan and my bother in law is a bloody leeds fan Welcome to the forum, as a fellow R's supporter, I am trying to wipe all memory of the leeds debacle As for Mariners shirts etc, nothing as yet I guess once the name and/or colours are finalised we will see something in that regards No FAQ as yet, but check out this website www.users.tpg.com.au/lesuth/member/Mariners/mariners.html

Hello all, I've just been lurking here for a bit, looking forward to a season of our own football team, drinking, singing and drinking. Good to see we have some good players signed - although I haven't got a clue who any of 'em are, since I never followed the NSL... Anyway, seems a few people are in the "loop" so I'm wondering if they have started to think about membership packages yet. I don't want anything fancy, just season tickets will do.. all the home games anyway..

Just a few ideas for the fourm to make it more "Mariner friendly" 1) Get rid of the advertising if possible. 2)Change the colour scheme around(ie no grey background) 3)Make the Forum head more prominment/different colour Just a few suggestions for discussion/consideration

Need to pay real $ otherwise! 2) Change the colour scheme around (ie no grey background) Dim Gray is default - franky all the other options are either crap, or will upset someone else! 3) Make the Forum head more prominment/different colour - can't do! (If anyone clever can make a nice long banner gif with logo and words, but needs to be very small kb - please do. Look at Sydney FC's) Admin
