Hey Lou! A few wins and I think the Mariners will have the crowds coming thru the turnstiles, particularly when there is that break between RL/RU seasons and the summer ( Sept - Nov ). I think you have a great point there and that is that football is played at the other end of the season to rl and ru. So it is a good idea to encourage RL to atttend our games do to the fact that its a national game also. Still feel its a good idea to attend the raiders and roosters game this weekend

Hello, I'm a newbie with no local knowledge of Australia - I know that's bad but you probably don't want any more Poms. I'm trying to find out exactly where the Mariners home town is? Is it Gosforth, is it Newcastle? I can't get a clear idea.

The home stadium is in Gosford, which is the centre of the area called the Central Coast. The Central Coast is named so because it is the halfway mark of the New South Wales coastline. Sydney is to the south, Newcastle to the north, and they each have their own A-League teams in Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets.

Thanks for the reply - that makes it a lot clearer to me. I'm actually from Manchester (the red bit) and now live in Nagoya, Japan (the Toyota car factory town in the middle). I help edit a website soccerphile.com and we were approached by a writer who wanted to write about the A-League - we cover football outposts like Korea, Croatia and Japan. I wanted to find out more about the game in Oz and came across this forum - the best in the A-league in my opinion - some teams don't have one at all. Anyway, to help me do my job I'll be popping in during the season. I'm now a CC Mariners fan!

Fantastic soccerphile, glad to have you aboard! From Stockport myself (originally, although most of the teenage years in Southampton) Good to see the A-League will be reported on in Asia.

Small world, my folks live in Stockport - wow. I'm going to ask the author to add links to relevant A-league sites and will include this forum. Most of our viewers are from the UK or USa so it should help bring some attention to the new season, I hope.

G'day everyone, I'm new here, the name's James. A few of you might know me from Uni and such..... anyways, I was at the final of the Club Challenge, and had such a top notch time that I couldn't help but join the Marinators craze, so here I am. Purchased my jersey at the launch on Saturday, and hoping to meet a few fellow fans at the game on Saturday. Bit of an inter-web user as well, so you'll see me on here often enough.
Again, howdy to everyone.

Hehehe, cheers for the welcome everyone. I'm guessing the "meet in the Kendall bar before and then progress over to the stadium" deal is pretty much standard procedure for every home game?? Because if it is, I'm not one to disagree at all.
Btw, what's the standard prices for the seats in that section?

Yep thats the standard procedure for every home game.
Standard price we dont know yet, probably around the same as the WCC games, which you would knwo to be around $15-20.

that comes under mariners website for all season tickets
And hello
Hey guys should we make a rule that new members have to do a song before (no matter how bad) so that we can all identify with them
And it would be fun for us and funny for them

Tickets for both Central Coast Mariners matches can be purchased from Ticketek outlets, the Ticketek website – premier.ticketek.com.au, or via phone on 132 849. They say Adult in GA (ie Bay 16 etc) $10.00, and student $8.00
