Hey guys should we make a rule that new members have to do a song before (no matter how bad) so that we can all identify with them And it would be fun for us and funny for them That's the unfairest (but funnest) thing I've ever heard. Good luck getting me to sing on my own though.

Actually the tickets are more expensive for these than the CWQs!

Congratulations all on reaching 400 - now for 500!
Note: We started on 24 October 2004, reached 130 by 1 March 2005, passed 300 in May, and now 400 in August!
Of course with double usernames and trolls they are not all real Mariners fans but an achievement none the less!

Hola! "Who would have thought they'd play an attractive short passing game?," I asked myself after watching the Mariners destroy Victory 3-1 in the semi-final of the Pre-Season Cup. I may not support you lot, but your game is ... fresh!
Rock on, Marinators.

Sir Alex aside and with all due respect to my own heritage (mother's side at least), attractive interchanges in midfield is not what you expect from Scot's!
Seeing the team run out first time, my girlfriend's reaction was "Woah! They're all giants!" Did McKinna deliberately recruit big, fit lads?

Yeah, why not, when you're starting from scratch you can decide upon a template and stick to your guns. I guess the one verticaly challenged opposition to the strategy is Gumprecht, but he's such a tough little knuckle (and skilled) that you gotta have him.

We play a physically demanding sport. Size and strength is always an advantage. I dont think he intentionally went out and tried to pick a tall team. Why would he when he wants them to play it around on the floor? Most defenders are tall, especially central ones, because they need to be able to head crosses and long balls away. Then the others are there as much for their skills and power such as Mrdja and just happen to be tall, but I dont think he specifically targetted height when recruiting.

here has what seems to me to be repetion in the songs, personally i thought that the english blokes ahd the right idea with nice long good old english songs like the one they came up with, "Oh central coast, is wonderfull,..oh central coast is wonderfull, it's ful of tit, smack and pirates, oh central coast is wonderfull". (to theme of when the saints go marching in) but more longer and betters songs. maybe printed copies of the songs would be appropriate? has anyone thought about a massive mainers flag like they have at anfield or something? or bringing bongos and whistles lol give it a south american feel. and im really excited about australia joining the afc whihc is awsome not only for the socceroos but for the league, imagine a match at cc stadium in the asian champ league mariners against someone like seoul? that would be awsome, the croud, the press, the recognition of the a-league and potential for more players etc.

The Mariners definitely the tallest. From today's A-League media release, apologies if spammed elsewhere.

THE TALLEST, THE SHORTEST
The average height of Central Coast Mariners' squad (183.0cm) is the tallest of the eight Hyundai A-League clubs; Melbourne Victory is the shortest (179.8cm).
Average heights of Hyundai A-League squad players: 183.0cm Central Coast Mariners 182.8 Queensland Roar 182.5 Perth Glory 182.0 Sydney FC 181.4 New Zealand Knights 180.8 Adelaide United 180.6 Newcastle Jets 179.8 Melbourne Victory
The tallest player of the Hyundai A-League is Queensland Roar goalkeeper Scott Higgins (200cm); the shortest player is Queensland's Massimo Murdocca (165cm). The Roar also has the league's tallest outfield player Tyler Simpson (198cm).
