Good to hear O'grady is doing as well as can be expected. The injury curse knows no limits.

Anyone who has seen a number of motor accidents (particularly when folks get trapped inside the wrecks) will know, once that car loses traction, or gets hit, or flies off the road, it's just a roll of the dice as to what injuries you may end up with. To survive such a crash often brings about a change in attitude on many things, and can lead to very positive outlook on life once they've recovered. I wish Paul a speedy recovery. No doubt his very good physical fitness will help him get over the injuries quicker than most folks.

Well, it looks like one of the worst kept secrets in football was finally revealed in today's Telegraph.
Last week Stringers was charged with high level drink driving as a result of his accident.
Let's hope it doesn't affect the sponsorship with MAA.

Let's hope it doesn't affect the sponsorship with MAA. too right! MAA pay a large amount for the sleeve sponsorship (1 of the best in the league if not the best), losing something like this would be a huge loss. I'm sure it won't affect it thou!

Maybe they will give the club a warning - The TAC withdrew their sponsorship from Richmond but I think that was after "repeat offences".

In all honesty he deserves to lose the sponsorship for being so stupid...... no doubt because he's a sportsman he'll get off with a warning (which sets a terrible example and is completely and utterly the wrong thing to do).

I thought it was club sponsorship, not player sponsorship we were talking about here. Why should the club lose sponsorship money based on an isolated incident involving one of its players?

Well if u need role models, Ancient Mariner drove me home on Friday.
I don't want to think that the team looses the sponsorship for one persons error.
We do make mistakes and I'm hoping he has learnt a valuable lesson personally. Wouldn't like to hear the lecture he got from his mum & dad!!!! Injury could have also been a lot worse and his life could have been changed completely for ever. Thankfully it wasn't.

Yeah, its an club sponsorship. Some of the players are on the big screen at half-time saying dont drink and drink. Basically, I think it not a good look that an organisation who main purpose to reduce drink/driving is giving money to a club, where an indivdual has been done for HIGH RANGE DRINK DRIVING. Maybe if he was just over the limit, then I would say that MAA should countine to give money to the club.

Hmmmmmm, I see where you're coming from, but you know what company's are like these days with their 'corporate image' and such. That, and one of the clubs players has basically acted in directly the opposite manner to that promoted by said company blah blah blah..... Basically - he should have done it, he's a goose for doing it, in some respects if the sponsorship was lost I wouldn't be surprised, and it's unfortunate this sort of thing has happened. You can just see the NRL and AFL oriented media going "omg lolz roflcopter, those rowdy sokkah players and their boozy nights out" and running with that sort of story in an attempt to discredit the A-League. At which point we'll just go "Hello?? West Coast Eagles anyone??"
