I'd be very surprised if the club lost sponsorship over this. However, I wonder if there is anything in his contract relating to "off field" dramas??
You would imagine the club might need to be seen to act quickly over this. A lot of employment contracts now contain codified rules around behaviour and brand image (mine sure as hell does) so he might be in a spot of bother.
It will be interesting to see how the club handle what (I think) is the 1st incident of this type they have faced.

What?....O'Grady's been caught DUI? 1. He certainly paid the price by having that accident - the injuries he got would have been enough to frighten him into being more sensible. 2.The sponsors won't be happy and may issue a warning to the club. previosu cancellations of sponsorships with other psorting clubs were the result of repeat offences and perhaps a bad culture within the club. Don't think that is the case at CCM. 3. O'Grady may end up being given a formal warning by club and may get fined for attracting the bad publicity and upsetting a sponsor. 4. Hope this is the last I read of this sort of behaviour from O'Grady.

I suspect it will be expensive for him regardless of any fine from CCM (If/when he is found guilty by the way).
The insurers of the car will be looking to him as well.

His insurance won't cover anything as he was under the influence.
He will have to cover it with his own money but he won't be needing a car in a hurry so there is no point him buying a new car or fixing his other one up. Lucky other cars wern't involved because cars are expensive mashines too fix.

I get the feeling something will have to give.
O'Grady's contract or the sponsorship $...it's hard to see both staying around tbh. This isn't a Pepsi-ambassador drinking a coke.

MAA could very well pull out of the sponsorship, as Adz said same happened with Richmond. I wouldn't be surprised if they did, would be very dissapointing.

(Assuming Paul is convicted...)
IMO best scenario club response for all would be, getting Paul to do say school visits talking about what happened, the dangers of drink-driving, what it did (and could have) cost him, etc. Notice is taken when people hear real stories from a real person.
Would actually value-add to MAA sponsorship (CCMFC might have to present this argument to them).

Here is an idea, MAA to run an ad campaign with him in it, pictures of him after the accident, and him talking about how its obviously the wrong thing to do.

Although I don't support sportsmen who get up to no good (plenty from other codes recently) I'd probably be happier if this was just left to be forgotten. For the sake of the Mariners.

Stringers isn't the only person in the A-league to be charged with drink driving.
QUEENSLAND Roar coach Frank Farina has reportedly been charged with drink driving in Sydney. NSW police said Farina, 42, from Sylvania allegedly blew a mid-range alcohol level in a roadside breath test on Tuesday.
Farina was stopped by Hurstville police highway patrol officers on The Grand Parade about 1.30pm and has been ordered to face Kogarah Local Court on April 17, according to the St George & Sutherlandshire Leader
The maximum penalty for driving with a mid-range alcohol level - a reading between 0.08 and 0.145 - is nine months in jail and $2200 for a first offence. If convicted, Farina will also lose his driver's licence for a year.
Former Socceroos coach Farina is due to move permanently from his home in Sylvania to Brisbane over the Easter break to be closer to his club.
