that's a little optimistic. Maybe, the closer the season gets the more optimistic I get.

Possible semi finals at Blue tongue will probably give you your free ticket closer to home.

Maybe instead of just complaining about it we can come up with a few solutions so this doesn't happen again. I'll start the ball rolling.. if the tickets are free or heavily discounted to the general public, members can get a discount voucher for Mariners merchandise, or send some piece of merch out to members (mugs, hats, glasses, I dunno...) to compensate for the discount we miss out on? Someone must have a better idea than that ...

there must be a way so gold and platinum members can still have their seat, maybe previous members use last years season pass.

for all those moaning think of it as your contribution to kid's charity
making it open slather will attract more people through the gates and therefore more money will go to charity
your good deed for the day and a positive contribution to the society you live in

Maybe just have free admission for people in the General Admission seating area. That is a very simple solution that keeps more people happy: - Gold & platinum members still get the benefit of reserved seats - Crowd no's, potential for recruiting first-time fans, charity, etc, still benefit. - Maybe so GA members feel don't ripped off, make the gold-coin donation compulsory unless you show your membership (many members would happily donate anyway) ... unless, of course, doing it this way buys the club a few more weeks to get the membership packs together and distributed.

Or they can enjoy an evening in the Bay, just for the experience PS. I'm gold so it might affect me, unless FFA get their act together with media (distracted by AC I am sure)

for all those moaning think of it as your contribution to kid's charity making it open slather will attract more people through the gates and therefore more money will go to charity your good deed for the day and a positive contribution to the society you live in Some can be precious when others dare to give feedback that perhaps isn't in line with the majority. Please, spare us the above tripe and spare us the condescending garbage whilst you're at it marinermick I think 99.9% if not all of us applaud the efforts of the club in supporting the charity (I made that quite clear), that is not the issue here - we are simply giving OUR club some feedback. It may not be in line with the majority running the Marinators, so be it. Jeff, dude ... Central Coast Mariner fans can and will have a differing opinion to those in official supporter group positions here. I am sure we all have our eyes on the big picture, we are simply giving our feedback as paying season ticket holders who expected a reserved seat Saturday week. There are better ways to promote OUR club to the non-paying community turning up on game day who may become season ticket holders or regulars on game day. My suggestions are being sent to the club to perhaps avoid this next season. I encourage all to the same if you're not happy with a decision made by the club. "Toeing the line" just to keep peace is "head in the sand" stuff. Constructive feedback from all involved with the club will further help us grow. In my opinion, we as a club can accomodate Gold and Platinum members as well as promote an idea like the one happening Saturday week. I will cop the club's decision on the chin knowing there was a lot of thought put in to the decision - I discussed this with the membership team this afternoon. In any event, my feedback will be sent through to the club as "food for thought" in an effort to appease all who support this great club.

id happily sacrafice my seat for more crowd numbers. as bear said. how many will come back after this free game? after they take in all the 90 minutes and 90 emotions... its addictive and ive seen people (post mariners match) agree to come back and do it all again. means more interest and leads to success of club.
whinge about your seat all you want. just think about the orphans.

Good to see we can draw the line here and protect Gold and Platinum members from having to sit in a different seat for one game, but screw the General Admission season ticket holders by letting everyone pile in there. Thanks!

I would have thought those with GA passes would rather go to a match as large a crowd as possible, (assuming you don't miss out on a seat altogether).
I know plenty with gold & platinum seats who will gladly sit in GA areas but enjoy the added atmosphere of a bigger crowd.
Still, you would feel ripped-off for buying a season pass when others get the same for free.

Surely the playoffs & final ticket being thrown in is a bonus, the way this competition is set up I'd be surprised if the Mariners didn't get one of those at home.

Gee i never seen so many people get so upset about seating for a Pre-Season Match. It's like the Carling Cup of Australia only a minority gives a dam about it.
It's a pre-season match against a team which is unknown and has got a new zealand knights monkey on it's back currently so the only way they were going to get people from outside this forum and memebers there was free tickets. I'm sure most if not all of you that are members would gladfully give up your comfortable usual seat to get an extra 5-8k people to a pre-season match and then a possible 1k in members. Also guys this match is for charity so your entry fee isnt going into paying our groundskeepers wages it's going to a worthy cause.
