Not sure about "yellow fever" as a name - they sound disease-laden or something. Maybe "The Order of the Phoenix" would have been catchier... until the end of this PSC when it's out-dated.

I'm not sure if everyone noticed. But the bonus points system goes for the group matches this year as well.

Well-travelled coach ready for Phoenix By FRED WOODCOCK - The Dominion Post | Friday, 13 July 2007
It has been an eventful 16 years for Wayne O'Sullivan. Now he's taking the next step in his footballing journey with the Wellington Phoenix.
He's an Irishman born in Cyprus who spent most of his playing days in England, enjoyed six months in Singapore, settled and played professionally in Australia and now finds himself coaching in Wellington.
If any proof was needed that football is the global game, look no further than Wellington Phoenix assistant coach Wayne "Sully" O'Sullivan.
The affable 33-year-old, who spent the past two years playing in the A-League for the Central Coast Mariners before getting the surprise opportunity to assist coach Ricki Herbert in Wellington, understates when he says "it's been an eventful 16 years".
"I've been fortunate enough that football has allowed me to travel and experience different cultures and meet lots of different people.
"I'm affectionately known as 'Cypriot-Irish' to my good friends, or as the Australians like to call you, a 'wog'."
Ironically, O'Sullivan's first coaching assignment of any note will be at his old stomping ground, Bluetongue Stadium, in Gosford tomorrow when the severely depleted Phoenix play their first Pre-Season Cup match, against the Mariners.
Herbert will use the tournament to get the newcomers up to speed but nevertheless O'Sullivan can't hide his excitement.
"I'm looking forward to it," he says with a cheeky smile.
"It's probably always going to be the smallest club in the league but it's a fabulous club, great stadium, great people and just a really friendly environment.
"I'd like to think I will be well received there. I had two good years there and enjoyed some success, and I did get on well with the local fans."
His release from the club alienated local supporters, who viewed the hard-working midfielder as a crowd favourite. But it opened up an opportunity to take the next step in his career.
After playing 16 years professionally, primarily in England (Swindon Town, Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle) and Australia (Parramatta, Northern Spirit and Central Coast) the timing of Herbert's approach couldn't have been much better.
O'Sullivan's playing days were probably numbered and he was about to finish a masters degree in education, specialising in coaching, from Sydney University, and also his Asian federation "B" coaching licence (both of which he has since completed).
"Coaching this year at this level was beyond my wildest dreams," says O'Sullivan, who admits to having been "pretty horrified" by the standard of the old NSL when he arrived in Australia in 2001.
"To be given an opportunity like this by Ricki, I had to take it because it's where I wanted to go with my football.
"I've had 16 years playing and hopefully I'll have 16-plus years in coaching. It's the next best thing from actually playing. And with Ricki at the helm he's going to give us opportunities to coach, and I just can't see it as anything else than just a fabulous chance."
And he hasn't felt the urge to lace up the boots just yet.
"It's pre-season and they're running around in this weather," he laughs. "It's actually nice to be able to say 'one more, lads, one more' with a smile on my face and not a grimace."
O'Sullivan won't rule out a return to the pitch in future, "if need be", but studying has opened up the coaching world and he's eager to explore it.
"It's not just the on-field stuff. There's a lot of theory behind it, some really good research out there, and I think I'm going to spend a lot of time reading up on that in all different areas – in and outside football."
Aside from study, O'Sullivan has a December 22 date to look forward to. The A-League break will "coincide" with his marriage to partner Renee, an "Australian with an Irish background".
"We're absolutely loving it here. We've moved into a new home in Island Bay – it's got all the elements so we'll definitely wake up every morning knowing we're in New Zealand.
"But I'm looking forward to tapping into Wellington from a cultural perspective – they've got theatres, arts, everything here. It's going to be a fun year both on and off the field."
