Perhaps a bit lucky to get the 3, although we were the dominant team in the 2nd half. (Maybe influenced by the armband?...) I thought Hutch was great tonight and for a lot of last year I didn't rate him at all. Jedi was solid and Boogs just enormous. Does anyone else get extra nervous from being at the heady heights of the top of the table with the first conceded goal lurking somewhere in our future? I'll probably feel more relaxed once that's behind us .

the further we get ahead the less we will care about the first goal conceded but we are 2 games out from the 1/3rd of the season milestone if we can get to there we are sweet

Is there any major events happening on the coast that turned the crowd away??. I was drooling at ur lovely weather before the match, looked beautiful.

Sunday is traditionally a terrible day for the Mariners crowds, which is why I can't understand the FFA putting so many on that day, and in such a big block!

Although it looked like on of those days that showcases Bluetongue in all its glory - you know, maybe the most picturesque football stadium if the world it was actually bloody cold at the end (9C - dropping from about 15C at kick-off, following today's maximum in Gosford of 19C) I thought it was spring

I thought the Mariners turned around completely when Gumpy got on the field. I expect him to start next weekend. How good was Petrovski, Jedinak and Hutcho? There are my my points for MOM.

Melbourne Storm v Parramatta Eels game would have kept a couple of thousand away i would think. NRL will be finished next week so we should see a bumper crowd against the Jets. It will be school holidays then as well

This evening has to be one of my favourite matches so far. Beautiful weather, the bay was pumping and we got the three points. stressful game yes but we stepped up and that was great to see. we deserve to be top of the league.
Tip of the cap to Andre Gumprecht and the spark he provided when he came on the field. His battle with Toopoor Stanley was great to watch.
Sasho is class. Great goal, played an excellent game.

I think Gumps benching will drive him to better form for the rest of the season and we will see the Gumps of old from here on.
Mile was superb and does it again and again with relative ease.

*is sad to see Tommy P rotting/wasted on the bench* Does anyone else get extra nervous from being at the heady heights of the top of the table with the first conceded goal lurking somewhere in our future? I'll probably feel more relaxed once that's behind us . Don't worry - it's coming next Sunday. We'll still win though.

Its nice to be talking about conceding our first rather than scoring it.
Danny wont know what to do when it happens hes gone something like 8 games in total now without conceding including Olyroos.

im pretty sure the tv was broken. hope they didn't have to pay for the hire because the screen was terrible cannot believe that some think it was a poor crowd our crowds for the first two rounds are actually up 5000 from last season and we have had our strongest crowd start so far add the local soccer and league grand finals plus it being a saturday and i think 9000 it quite excellent to put it into perpsepctive this is the eight highest crowd out of 23 games in the season proper at bluetongue and the highest against perth

Fair point about the crowd numbers being up, but personally I won't be happy until we are getting 15k+ for EVERY game

Is that a fair call?

Is that a fair call? fair call - derby will bring out more and local and other sport distractions will be gone wish that game was the one that had the publci holiday on the monday
