Maybe ask Clarkey next time someone sees him? He was close to the action, maybe he overheard what the ref and assistant ref said and what the yellow was for?

I think the English FA would try to do the same as the FFA appears to be doing here - hope they don't have to enforce the Law to it's enth degree.

This is ridiculous...either point out instances where the ref was wrong in either punishing you, or not punishing us, or accept that your team is a pack of cheats Vukovic free kick. The way Simon ran into Covic, well after the play. Any time D'Apuzzo was on the ball he was hacked. The fact D'Apuzzo should have got a red for his blatant swing after a player got away. No matter how many times he gets hacked he shouldnt react like that Firstly The number of yellow cards a referee gives shouldnt depend on how many fouls there are in the game, but how wreckless the fouls are. When Vukovic came out at griffiths it was a good decision as when you look at it on the replay it there was little contact, and it does look like griffths did dive into it. there could have been a foul for that but vukovic wouldnt have been sent as it wasnt an ovbious goal scoring oppunity as griffths was running away from the goal when he touched it around Danny. the Kohler Yellow card would have had nothing to do with the simon indicent, that would have been for entering the field of play without the referees free kick. if you looked when he told Kohler to go off to fix when he had blood on him (or what ever it if was for) he never waves him back onto the field, and that is a caution under the laws. And you cant touch a referee at all i have no idea what the Assistant said to him when he called him over cause he should have been off, breeze will watch the replay and think "shit i should have sent him".

I know the rules, thanks anyway. I learnt the hard way back when i was 14 I'm saying the reason came he back on the field was to take offence at what simon did to covic. Yes Kohler deserved the yellow card, he shouldnt have come on the field.

hahaha Griffo.
Very lucky indeed there. But just hope he wakes up to himselfs and dosent do it again. In my opinion with danny. IT should have been a free kick and at least a yellow. But nothing becasue the goal went our way last night

And another thing....
Bridge is a wanker. His goal, as I remember it from the replay, took 2 deflections off mariners players, and he celebrated like he was a f***ing goalscoring god or something. Wake up son, your not THAT good.

He ran over to you bench becasue during the week Mckinna said that we were a 2 player team in JGriffo and Stu. Plus it was a Derby aswell.

They were only slight deflections, but they were there, thats why you would not celebrate like that, as they were deflections. If it was all class, fair enough, celebrate till the cows come home, but deflected goal, pfft.

Plus it was a Derby aswell. clark's hand, jedi's thigh. vukovic left unsighted and then stranded. had danny had a better look, we might have kept the points. that was easily newcastle's best chance though, where as we had near misses from sasho (airswing at a volley), sasho (breaking the net), kwas (past the near post), boogs (header missing far post), simon (header just missing the top corner) plus a whole bevy of mucked up final balls and poor options taken... had we finished as clinically as say, 1st half against wellington it could have been a consolation to get to a 4-1 scoreline.

Alot of Ping-pong involved in Newys goal. cant do much about that stuff.
Danny got a toenail on the ball then griffos legs got joel but gee he did a good job milking it. 3 rolls and dragging back the legs for more contact with vuko wow.
On the basis of the punch down below should FFA alter there rules considering a ref can get puch in to groin and get away with it. something has too be done about this.

Newcastle goal was a result of ball watching. Two defenders didn't close him down allowing him to shoot. the goal was a bit Arsey. Griffiths should get 6 weeks if FFA is fair dinkum.

Never seen anyone get a 6 week pat on the back for smacking a ref. 1 year min.
BTW......for those that wish to argue that the FFA cannot do anything after it was dealt with on the field, according to tonights news, the yellow was for dissent.
Obviously he could be cited for assaulting an official if they cared to do so. Another cover up & another great example for our young players to follow.
Now they all know you can smack a ref & get a yellow card.

man cant everyone get over it. It was just light contact, no need for this 1 year ban talk, just 2-3 weeks. I hate to hear the reaction when an ref gets punched in the face.

curious - bikinigirl actually raised the interesting point that if the AR didn't realise the punch was intentional and only told Breeze about the dissent, then Breeze hadn't actually dealt with the punch, hence the FFA could (and should) act on it.
Unless somebody is able to find out what was said between AR and ref, we can only make assumptions....

TimmyV - I hope if Joel Griffiths gets punched in the balls and it's a "non-action" you'll have the same response. Griffiths SHOULD be banned for life, but he's not because obviously the FFA has no balls! If it's a refereeing problem Breeze should be suspended for not giving contact to an official as a yellow card.
Hopefully players will be hacking J. Griffiths in that area each week from now on, no less than what he deserves and he shouldn't complain when it's only yellow.
