i just realised the club name is spelt wrong in the topic, isnt it Nurnberg not Nuremberg? i could be wrong tho Nurnberg is right. Nürnberg would be the 100% correct spelling in german. In school I learnt that it is Nuremberg in English Another small update: Spiranovic is again in Nuremberg and it seems he will get a contract soon. Michael and Dean now got a player's license for the second team too. It was quite difficult to get that, because only EU citizens are allowed to play in leagues below the second or third. The second team plays in the 4th league. So they now have the chance to play regularly and not the whole weekend would be wasted.

Yesterday there was a friendly against Pilsen (Czech 1st League, 8th currently) where Dean played 15 minutes. In one newspaper they said it was his 'comeback', because he was injured for some time before. That's the first time that I heard that... Spiranovic played the full 90 minutes as central defender. I heard it was an impressive performance by him! I saw today's match against Paraguay on TV. The own goal from Meggsi was some bad coincidence. I think no one was really concentrated anymore after saying farewell to four players (is that some kind of world record? ). It was even a no-win situation. If he lets it through it's also a mistake. He also got pushed by the attacker. Well I'd say, forget about it and make a world class match against Bahrain

Poor Sonic, Spiranovic has just come in and he's already grabbing the spotlight. Though Spiranovic is touted afterall as the most classy defender we have produced since Joe Simunic (let's not get started about that twat though shall we).
Meggsi's own goal was unfortunate but given the occasion and circumstances as you said, I'm not too worried. At most it was a dampener to the night. Lets hope he doesn't dwell on it since he will be given the oppoortunity to start against Bahrain

Well with Soccer there's spotlight for 11 players or even more They could both play! Or even all 3 or 4 Spiranovic, Meggzy in the center, Dean on the left and Josh as an attacker OK, today I found out that Dean had some problems with his prostate for some weeks. But he's totally fit again now. Otherwise he couldn't have played 15 minutes on Friday. I think he may be an option soon for the first 11 or 16. We will see

Sorry, for that gap of information. However Michael didn't play in the last games, but Dean is now part of the second team and had three appearances and already made his first goal yesterday It was the 2:1 and that was also the final result. He played in the left midfield. The goal was a 25m shot according to the official report. Since we need players who score in the first team maybe Dean will get a chance soon. Yesterday the first team got the seventh draw in a row. Since the other teams now know that we play with short passes they stay in their own part of the field, so it's hard to create chances. We often have ball possession at 60:40 or even better but the attackers don't get best chances or not enough. After all we are still 5th, but today there will be two other matches and we could end up on the 7th after that. BTW here's a pic of Michael from yesterday's photo list:

Oh I nearly forgot the most important point: Michael will quite likely be in the starting 11 next week against Berlin. One of our central defenders received his fifth yellow card, which means he is out for one match. In the last week our coach explicitly praised Michael's performance in the training. Michael also was sent for warming up alone after 10 minutes yesterday, because the other central defender was quite nervous in the beginning, but then got back to a better performance. So Michael's quite close and next week could be his debut in the starting 11. Stay tuned

From left midfield though . I wonder if that was make shift or genuinely what they see in him When he left the first thing I said was "he'll never make it over there as a full-back" and it's true. His engines would be great for a midfield over there, but he can't defend well enough to get near a backline in Europe, let alone the Bundesliga (most goals scored of all major leagues).

I think Simunic might be the only player in the world I'd wish Muscat on. Although, Joel Griffiths is quickly rising in those stakes. Banovic qualised for Nurnberg in the 47' but Patnelic has just scored a second for Berlin.

Ivan Saenko was the hero for Nurnberg as he scored an 85th-minute winner to claim all three points in an entertaining 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen. overnights game.

looking at the nurnberg website meggsy has still only played 2 senior games while heffo hasn't played any.I hope heffo realises that the A-league is a higher quality than the German 4th division and comes back next year
