Great result and an all round top night out with the lads.
Red card though to the over zealous security that confiscated Adz's skull & bones flag.
And another red for the wankers behind the bar in the Kendall Bar who over-reacted at the end of the match when a few of us wanted to sing a few bars of 'Mariners, Mariners, Mariners.'
Pointing the finger and telling us: 'Stop that now or we'll call in the security immediately.', and seeing four goons with earpieces rush into the bar (but keeping a respectable distance), suggests that a serious win in the comp proper will require a different venue for those that like to sing a few tunes after final whistle.

I find it surprising you had those problems in the Kendall Bar, listening to what Charles was saying before the game, seemed the Kendall Bar was quiet happy to have us there, prehaps they were new behind the bar??? As for the game a Hattrick to Super Nicky Mrdja,a ref that NFI (the second time a Mariners player was brought down in the box, apparently Lawrie and Fergie were blowing up about big time for about 4-5 mins after the incident to the fourth official) But despite a blind ref and a linesman that can't tell when the ball has crossed the line (by around 10cms) a very pleasing solid win to the Mariners, bring on the Blingers

It was a bit odd, considering that the pre-match singalong went without a hitch. The man behind the bar (bar manager?) was quite emphatic - no singing allowed, which I found also odd considering it's a sports bar.

im sure mick or whoever will liaise with the leaguesy in his place will put this question to them for a final answer as to what is and isnt allowed.
when clarky was there tonight we got told off for singing in the foyer "its ok in there but not in here" but then not long after we got told off in the kendall bar because "there are more not marinator people packing in here now so no more singing"
make up your bloody minds.

You might want to see the leaguesy offical and see if the kendall bar can be blocked off, to the public for a certain time before and after the game so it can be used exclusively for the marinators. Isn't that what sponsorship is all about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was another incident at the launch, when my wife and 2 year old girl was hassled by the security bozo a split second after the conclusion of the launch. Fair dinkum, he broke all speed records to move from the entrance (where he was lurking, just itching to thow his considerable weight around), to where the projector was. He ordered them out in a very rude manner, saying my daughter was under age (really? And I couldn't tell the difference between 2 and 18? - smart guy that one).
If I'd have been there he'd have got an earful - dickhead! It was a private function was it not? In most Clubs I go to kids are fine in private funtion areas if supervised. Is the law in Gosford different? The fact that you couldn't order a beer one second before 5.30pm in the Kendall Bar also suggests it was private deal.
Jeez, they are very inflexible there.
My wife said she didn't mind if it was the law or Club rule, but what offended her was the rude manner this wanker behaved. A quiet "Excuse me but..." with a smile and a quiet explanation would have been fine - but no, she said she was was treated like she was a criminal.
So if anyone was wondering why the presentation of the website was packed up so quickly - now you know. We left in disgust.
Note that the guy that set up the sound and projector was a top bloke!

Taken the leagues club off the site because my mates and I were kicked out for standing in the kendall bar after the game - why? Who knows!? f**k em if they're gonna start randomly booting people out. Good one Adz. If they don't want our patronage, so be it. I've removed their link from the Links section too.

I have it on good authority that the people involved were long term employees and well known to be grumpy arseholes.

Who knows!? f**k em if they're gonna start randomly booting people out. Seems we have a club that has a split personality and doesn't know what it wants - us there or us not there! Given that many of us have taken out membership we should have something to say. MarinerMick, do you want to take it up with Charles firstly - and then act depending on what he can tell us.. Depending on the outcome of that, those of us who are members can write to the Club directors complaining and asking for direction to their staff a change of attitude. There are definitely some club staff who see it as an affront to have people there going about there own business in some way that for some reason offends them. I'm going to check out in the detail the club's rules and we should be firm about any that don't exist. Remember it is a club not a pub however and behaviours would be expected to be different - but the Kendall Bar is supposed to be an 'old Irish pub' - no singing for f*** sake? - what would an Irish bar be without the craic?

I was not aware of any of this (apart from the Clarkie bit as I was there). Not good though, lets hope it was just a one off.

I never made it back to the cclc post-match due to other commitments but its very disappointing to hear what happened. Hopefully once the dust settles the matter can be rectified through charles and co. Even with the pre-match singing i noticed security were dumping themselves!! With the Kendall bar being a nice sized room separate from the rest of the club you would have thought it was an ideal situation for all concerned. Also disappointed to hear that Adz got his flag confiscated. DONT THEY KNOW THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THAT FLAG? If they are gonna be that anal about things its a bad sign. I personally thought Goldengirl's gold bling bling watch was more offensive. A couple of questions: Is there anyway that we can get the 'Sea of Yellow ' banner elevated a bit higher? Once the boys are standing at the back of the bay it's hard to see. Perhaps if it was any higher it would obstruct the behind the goal camera?? If not maybe we could get permission to fix a couple of poles inorder to lift it higher. Also, i was a bit disappointed to see that the Mariners strip still has the white names/numbers when Blue would clearly be better! I'm still holding out hope that the official strip will be different. On the plus side, It was good to see some decent Merch starting to happen. Christ, i couldve done with a beanie! Also were there any car stickers?? Hey, weve also got a bona fide red-hot striker!! 2 hat-tricks already! NM walks on water!! Great performance allround. Crawley, Clarkey and Sully did great. Did anyone notice how appreciative Sully was toward the Marinators at the end? He just wanted to jump in and party!! Oh, i also got a hat-trick. 3rd game in a row that i kicked over my spare drink. Wanker.

Tip: NEVER say the word intoxicated to a Security Nazi; it makes their job easy.
Aren't we bringing CCLC extra business? Really, some of the Nazis were excessively pushy.
If we are in Kendall's, we should have the run of the place until a set time. The fossil disco wasn't too bad, and the scenery was very pleasant.
If a person is pissed, then they have to go by law, we can't do much about that. If your Marinator mate is getting pissed, keep him/her quiet, get 'em a softie and look after 'em for half an hour. That's what being a mate and a Marinator is all about.
Great to see some of the lads come back post-game. Yes, it was great to see Mrdja and Sully's reaction toward us.
Skull & Bones flag MUST be allowed in. Honestly, some people get a security badge and think they're God, or Allah if you live where I do!!!

Tip: NEVER say the word intoxicated to a Security Nazi; it makes their job easy. Struth, I would have thought if you can say 'intoxicated' then you can't be! Auburn that was me not Celery enquiring about your sartorial state! You looked, let us say, impressive and a credit to SSI shirt quality. I have high'ish qualifications in security although I am not currently working in that field, and my son is a licenced security guard. There is a speciality called 'crowd control' with a sub-speciality for various ''sports'. Almost no-one in stadium security in Australia is trained in it, and even fewer in the hospitality industry. BTW - see you on which train up next week?

If they don't let us sing (they most likely won't) and keep randomly kicking people out with yellow shirts on, we might have to vote with out feet and take our cash to another drinking spot. Maybe a small pub would be better, where we can all just pile in and take over the joint.
