Back to the topic.
I have been following this thread with interest and trying to keep my mouth shut (successfully until now). The main reason being is that in that in the past I had to be in the middle of everything and tell everyone how it should be done. Now I know that does not sound like me but yes I think I may be a "control freak". When you add to this my age aquired cynicism I find my comments may not necessarily be helpful.
However, here goes.
1) Add to the agenda the search for the name of this organisation. It cannot be the "Marinators" or anything that may be confused with the "Marinators" which is a mad name for a non organisation and the exact opposite of what is happening here. Look at the confusion that is already happening in this thread.
2) I fully support the idea of having a formal organisation for all the reasons already stated. The main one being those that are sticking their necks out and organising things already need the protection of a properly constituted body, especially for money but also for credibilty when trying to book things or arrange tickets etc.
3) It will only be successful with a lot of good will and blood, sweat and tears from those doing the work. So my advice to those who wish to knock is "Sit down, shut up". If you want to participate do so, if you do not, no one is forcing you.
4) If you have a position for Cynical Grumpy Old Bastard I may nominate, see you on the 19th.

From these suggestions we will go to a poll and then pick a couple to vote on at the IGM. Cheers Mick

It needs to contain the word Marinators or the funds probably would not be able to be used for wider Marinators activities - that should be covered too in the objectives in the Constitution - but the working title for the reason you mentioned (and others) was 'Friends of the Marinators'. Another possibility might be: Marinators Support (club). Marinators Club should also work ... no one but the CCLC Annual report need know it as 'Marinators Club Club', a sub-club ...! Then of course you could go Monty Pythonish with Peoples Front for the Marinators, Marinators Peoples Front, wanky with GoAhead Marinators (as in the Dutch club), etc. ;D Ursus, the queue for the CGOB is already down to Baker Street.

so what do u suggest for a name Nerds FC? And we get the captain (former coast resident) from season 1 to be a patron. I say we push for the bowling greens to be redevolped into dinamo's home ground.

so what do u suggest for a name Nerds FC? friends of the marinators isn't quite it. i'm not a marinator and a friend of the marinators. well, i am, but it's awkwardly named... marinators' club (and then people can be referred to as club members, and non members are simply non members)?
