^I agree. this season has produced some ugly ugly challenges. im glad zadkovich got the red on saturday, the little shit deserved it. does that rule him out of the CCM v SFC match? . yep, got an extra week

. cocky because brownie pointed out their woeful home record ?
. obviously open and honest comment is such a foreign concept in qld that this has been misconstrued as cockiness
. classic from tiatto in that article about how lucky we are to be at the top "any team could be up there if they put the goals in"
. perhaps that should read 'anybody if they could put goals in against the best defence in the league - but they can't'

Sasho's yellow card on Sunday was friggin stupid......a striker should not be getting ridiculous cards like that! . you could apply that to all 6 of his yellows ...

Frikking Shield.... Shouldn't he be reffing MV or SFC??? Hmm....I work until 4 on Sun....it's gonna be tight making it for kickoff... We're going to miss Tommy P and Jedi badly in this match.....God I hope we've figured out how to feed good balls through to our front line after last week's performance... . and AR alex glasgow .... isn't he the one that ..... . hope he is wearing protection

. i think matty's first touch is better than sash (and i am not just talking about last night)
. i also think more can come from a simon/aloisi combination
. and despite what has been a constant criticism of matty on here i don't he needs to muscle up in the upper body - if anything he needs to build up his legs more for stability. but yesterday he showed he can hold the ball up well and use his body
. occassionally a relative lack of experience is evident and perhaps goes to ground a little easy
. he gets my vote to partner aloisi next week - it may also motivate sash as a late sub

. the way he plays definitely gets to the opposition - nobody comes out of their box like danny
. i know i would be in two minds if i had 100kg of danny coming out at me and knowing he won't be having any second thoughts

I reckon he owes Tommy P. a crateload of beer after Tommy's gut busting run in the last minute of the match vs. Sydney to deflect a lob off our goal I'd include the spray that Tommy gave Danny when he got up as one of my Memoral Mariners Moments . i think that effort from tommy was not appreciated for what it was (as it would not have effected the result) . two weeks ago goal difference was looking very important for us come season end .... much better now

Trotty didnt help the cause of keeping the ball. He wellied it up field every time he got the ball in his hands. Last week we retained possesion better when Danny was rolling it out to the defence. I don't think anyone was telling him to do otherwise . doesn't help when the entire midfield is still in the 18 yard box . distribution is one thing i would normally say trotty is much better at than danny (although danny has been good the last couple of games)

But, once again, like the gentleman he is, he hardly says a word, and quietly leaves the field. It will be sad to see him leave... . accepts decision ( right wrong or wrong) and jogs off ... yes jogs off! . none of this carrying on for a couple of minutes trying to get the decision reversed (as if) and then taking another couple of minutes to actually dawdle off the pitch like we normally see (soggy sao comes to mind) . should get more credit for this sort of behaviour

. agree about keeping simon in - he is more likely to help aloisi
. he always wants the ball and will be even more keen to get that goal now

Looking forward through the season: in a back four, Wilko is too defensive at right back and is 'wasted' a little by not being central, but Owens or Porter are too attacking. I know it's been discussed ad nauseum but...Back three? Lawrie prefers a 442 but with who we have available it's not really viable! . agree, as discussed previously we have been playing a defacto back 3 with either LB or RB attacking at any given time . with neither boogs, wilko or viddy likely to get forward significantly it puts even more pressure on the other in a back 4 to do a lot . the back 3 will all be clear on their responsibilities and they will not be expected to cover for the defensive shortcomings of others . as the wide men in the midfield will have the pace, it will allow them to provide cover if needed - but more importantly track the runs coming from deep that burnt us last week

. you're looking at it the wrong way
. if they said giant killers we are the giants of australian football
. and they need hope
. plus if they don't build up sydney then what will they do next week when they come crashing back to reality

. i was hoping that after melb with nik out and sasho doubtful that matty might have got a start up front with mori (alas, not to be)
. i think they could have complimented each other well with mori drawing defenders and getting into the right position at the right time. whilst matty could have run his arse off making a general nuisance of himself and taking direction from a master
. as it turns out i think mori and sasho are too similar (although generally they didn't get great service)

. just like we have not been top of the league for 8 straight weeks! . not the time to start doubting the team and feeding superstitions . have faith - we will win, and win big just stating fact not passing opinion . not specifically meant for you mick, just trying to prevent any negative sentiment

My lineup: --------------------------Trott Brown---------Jedi----------Clark--------Heff -----------------Gumps------Hutch Owens------------Tommy------------Kwasnik ----------------------Sasho With the other 4 avaliable making up the bench Depending on Ossies injury we might need a short term right back i also doubt the 4-4-2 will work for lawrie this week considering the avaliable players . i don't mind the look of that line-up . we will need a bit of flexibility in the formation as everything will be a bit unfamiliar (except that winning feeling)

if redmaynes nick is reddy that aint good for when we one day start him against queensland and we do the famous "reddys a wanker" chant. found it quite funny when i read it. . lucky i thought about it before i gouged my eyes out . seeing reddy in a mariners line-up is not what i want to see, does they guy have a proper nickname?

. pete that is brilliant - deserves to be published (other than on this forum)
. he is quite an eloquent chap isn't he? ..... feminine depilatory procedure ..... i love it!
. and before people start - it is not the procedure that i love (although it is somewhat liberating)
