According to the SMH this morning "...Petrovski is expected to sign with the CCM today".
Anyone heard if this is true? I can't find any news about it anywhere.

Check the thread called "Let's look forward - Squad for 2007/2008" from about page 20.

Yep - I saw it earlier in the week.
I'm looking for confirmation that he has actually signed today?

Cool - thanks.
I agree - he might have something to prove, and it's great that we acted so quickly to solve a major problem.

Nothing better than a quality player with a bit of fire in his belly to prove SFC they have made a monumental mistake.

definately a good signing. sasho petrovski is a proven goal scorer and with the decent service and general hard work the mariners are capable of i am sure he will net a fair few goals in hal v3. im hoping he doesnt bring a 'too cool' approach, and fits in nicely with the general atmosphere of the club, and our community. no one on the coast likes a tosser.
i still think we need to sign someone else to play a more supporting role, setting up and working hard, and getting a few goals on the side too, much like Fred for melbourne.
Lets also pray to god that mrdja pulls his finger out and gets fit and our fortunes could change, from arguably the worst attack in the league to the best, up there with melbourne.
with the goal scoring problems solved and pending less injuries the mariners will be a major force to be reckoned with next season.

I'm sure he will be treated no differently to any other player at the club. He will be expected t owork the community like everyone else.

Apologies if this sounds sarcastic but... I predict that Nik Mrdja will suddenly recover from all ills and make himself available for selection from the outset of the pre season. (Now that there's a seasoned striker as an alternative to Nik, it might make Mr. Mrdja realise the world doesn't stop and wait for him to feel like playing)

I predict the EGO's of Sasho and Nik will "get it on" at a training session ala SFC.

Fergie will have to keep an eye on them I reckon, and belt them around the head a bit if they step too far outta line. Can imagine Nik volunteering to mark up Saso in defence at training and visa versa. ;D

Yea it'll be interesting to see wha happens wih Mrdja/Petrovski, though Petrovski's a much better option than Milton!

I think that Milton and Petrovski are different types of "striker". Milton would be more dynamic and all over the park, more so than Petrovski, who would be there for the finishing and the last man choice (shoot or pass). I don't think either is better than the other, rather they are different types and we could have done well with BOTH but one is good enough.

No Omni, Milton Milton, he's more of a team player. Would fit in well with our team dynamic, has a better work rate than Sasho and doesn't have the mentality of a 'top dog', like Sasho/Nikky so would work more harmoniously with Nik or Sasho. Hell I'd have all 3 of them, just rotate Nik and Sasho around someone like Milton or a Bridge, who would be even better for us than NJ, that's after Clarkey whips a few pounds off him in pre-season training, he'd be explosive in behind a front man striker.

I'll admit I let the fact that he's a scummer cloud my judgement, but I dunno I think Petrovski is a better option, I can see the issues with Nik/Saso but maybe it'll force them both to work harder.

I agree with Omni, Sasho much better option. We already have the players that can run around the park. We just needed someone to put them in the net, like Sasho, like Mori.

To me this seems like milton can put the ball in the net. Maybe a little bit of research before making posts would help in future
