Saso and his family stayed in Terrigal on the weekend and they love the place already. Is he going to live on the coast or his going to do a Spenny and commute and then complain about the travel when he realises he has no future at the club. I think his early thoughts are to live on the Coast possibly around Terrigal? He has a wife 3 kids so I guess it depends on what he decides for them.

Can't wait to see him at Largo and get him pissed and wait for tough guys to try and fight he and I ...and then I'll unleash him and watch the chaos erupt.
Then comes the press...

you cant fault the lifestyle up here, maybe his signing will encourage others to sign too but it's such a long way from the city (sydney I mean)..... He lives in the 'Gong, and travels to Sydney with the Bling's Illawarra mafia - of him, Ceccoli, Pasfield, Zadkovich, etc. I presume he will move up ... similar lifestyle .... compared to Sydney anyway

well ceccoli's contract hasnt been extended at sydney so he is available.. he was the other one that was looking to move to Fukuawa too hook up with Litbarski, so its very possible that ceccoli might be on lawries target list. He wasnt a fan of butcher just like Sasho. If we snapped him up and another gun striker or attacking midfielder our recruitment for next season would be near perfect.

I think Lawrie is more focused on trying to get Heff back here rather than signing Ceccoli. Ceccoli would be a great signgin but I'd rather have Heff back scoring goals from Fullback.

Personally i dont think lawrie is focused at all on getting Heff back.
Heff will only come back if he doesnt get picked up on a European club, so from Lawries position all he has to do is sit and wait, he doesn't have to lure Heff back because Heff is still under contract with the Mariners. If he doesnt get picked up by another club he has no chioce but to come back here and play.
As far as i know Alvin Ceccoli an Sasho Petrovski are quite good friends ('gong connection) and if he doesnt move to Japan i wouldnt be at all surprised if he finds himself on the central coast. He was whinging that Sydney was cutting his pay to buy more players for the ACL so we if offered him a decent pay packet he would probably sign.
But i know where you are coming from, i would also prefer heff.. but pending his return Ceccoli is more than capable in that position. With decent attacking players we wont need to rely on goals from defenders anyway...

What I meant was, that Lawrie was still hoping for him to make a decision on whether or not he'll return. I don't think Lawrie will approach another LB until Heff confirms that he has found another club. Like you said Checkers would be a brilliant replacement for Heff, but I doubt that an offer will be made until Heff's future is sorted out.

I can't really see the point in trying to get Heff back. He lost posession alot and was out of position alot. Maybe that has been fixed up while he was in Europe but why do we need him to score goals when we have Saso up front, possibly another striker up front, and I'm going to assume Kwassy is spending every day shooting because he is an idiot if he isn't. However, I haven't really payed enough attention to Ceccoli to compare the two, nor have I seen Heff play since his training in Europe.
By the way Eggy spoke of his reply when asked if he is coming back, the "I hope not" gives me the impression he doesn't want to play for the Mariners.
Was it in the paper that Ceccolis option to go to Japan is no longer aswell? Or was that just Petrovski?

I don't think that was meant as a slight on the Mariners, and I spoke to his cousin a while ago who indicated the same kinda message to me - he's giving a Euro career a shot, and aint ready to give up and come home. He may not think he'll ever end up at ManUtd but he still has the potential to earn a cuppla million dollars during what's left of his career, and he needs to be in Europe to do it. I'm torn between hoping he picks up a decent gig over there and carries on the dream, and hoping he fails miserably and comes back here, but that's my shamelessly selfish side talking. Can't recall. I think I recall that Heff however is contracted with the Mariners until April, so you'd assume Lawrie may hold off at least one signing until then?

The reality about Heff is that he's one of 1000s of players over in Europe and 1 of 100s trying to score a contract. He hasn't cracked a contract with Nurnberg, but he has a licence to play lower grades in Germany so he can be a useful player for some other German club. Who knows, with a different club strategy, he may rise above the level he's at at the moment. But if he becomes unemployed, he has no option but to come home, or have a holiday in Europe. Sure, he can earn some decent $$ even as a lower grade player, but he has to get a club interested in him , and fast. Would guess that Lawrie will be patient and see what happens. It's no use in Lawrie insisting Heff come back to Australia and start training, then run out of contract in April and bolt straight back to Germany to follow up some clubs. Heff has to want to return to Australia, and be prepared to work for a place in the lineup and focus on a forthcoming season. He can't do that if his heart is on a spot in Germany, and he's on the phone to an agent over in Europe every second day, and watching the calendar tick over to April.

If you were on the fringes of, and actually had your foot in the door of, a 5th placed Bundesliga club, as if you wouldn't suspect there may be considerable room to move beneath that level in Europe.
It's not hard to understand.

Ceccoli is off to Japan, reliable source I'd believe that - I've heard nothing in relation to Ceccoli becoming a Mariner - It would be very unlikely IMO
