There well hard. They stopped a lady and her son leaving the station car park and kicked all the panels in her car and terrorised the poor boy.f***en well hard you gutless c**ts. i didnt see this incident and im farking not proud of it, if it did acutally happen. And i was with the main huge group of newcastle lads that walked form the stadium to train station. In every crew there is gunna be some peckerheads. We all have the same problem. There was no police what so ever after you walk out of the street that the stadium is on. Security inside was a joke aswell. Casue i was on the megaphone they basically told me to control them. What a farking joke that is. Im there as a fan not a friggen security guard. I still dont see how we all the most laugh about supporters because of those comments made. Go and troll Sydney or Melbourne forums and they are basically saying what was said there about each other.

I would like to discuss performances in the game rather than what went on off the field. To start of I will cause an upset. Apart from the goal which was a piece of individual magic and was awesome, I do not think Tommy had as good a game as people here are making out. There was far to much long ball played from deep to the strikers but in most cases those in possession were left with no other alternative. There was really not that much midfield movement off the ball making space until Heff came on. Having said that I thought Tommy went well for someone who was playing their first full game in ages. I look forward to seeing more of him. Maybe he can build a partnership with Sash up front until Nick comes back. Just a thought. So far I have not been overly wrapped in Mori. The long ball in the air did not work against Perth and does not work with Mori up front, he needs the ball played through. Watching Mori he seems a year older and a yard slower than last year and does not seem to be singing from the same sheet as the rest of the team. Is he still flying in for the game only? Very impressed with Boogs my MOM. He stepped up to the responsibility well and ruled. Has he got a yard quicker or was the Jest attack slow? It was also good to see Jedi slot into the cntral defending role ok. He could be there for a few more weeks. I think Hutchi's style of play suits the DM role better than the AM. He too could be there for a little longer. This will allow Tommy and Gumps to stake their claims. Could cause the Gaffer some good headaches in the future. Is Heff really a midfielder and more dangerous in that position? Browny as left back? Good to see Ossie back he is impressing me this year. Kwassy. Is there a slump in his confidence when Mori is in the team? I would need to watch the tapes from last year but the last couple of games he has not been the same Kwassildinho of the earlier games this year. I noticed Mori was giving him a gobful on many occasions yesterday. I do not think it helps him. Is it my imagination or is there a correlation. Could it be time to try him up front again with Sasho? I am convinced there is a champion player in there we just need to find the right buttons to push. Very frustrating. Overall I thought we did ok. Played like shit in the first half but managed to stop Newcastle scoring. Played better in the second half when the game started to flow. Similar to the Perth game. If we can get our act together with 1) Holding possession and 2) Playing with some V1 elan we will beat anyone easily. Both will happen with confidence. I am feeling confident now for the rest of this season.

excellent assessment of the middle of the park. the movement was especially disspointing from throw-ins and free kicks recieved within our own half. how many times did jedi just hoof the ball forward? there were moments when the midfield got going but laregly they were ineffective. looking forward to having the full team back on the park. if we are to remain top of the table things will need to improve. even though it feels a little like 2 pts lost to me, its great that the team can still hols its own under the current straining circumstances. now we just have to get through another week of it. and this time we are missing our player of the season so far

sorry to double post but...
its pleasing that there is finally a real derby rivalry throughout the stadium, not just in the supporters groups. a unique buzz was, um....... buzzing throughout stands. can see this fixture becoming a regular sellout in years to come. congrats to lawrie and kwas for having some balls to get things going. now for the scum management to jump off the fence!

I think Kwassy has played well so far this year, don't know about the Damien Mori thing with him. I don't think it affects his game. I think he does beautiful passes and is super fast and I like him playing on the wings better than striker. I think Tommy should get a start heaps more, he is such quality on the field. I was surprised they took off both Petrovski and Mori together in the second half and it was just crazy that they did not play the left side more than what they did. Every ball Heff got and passed through, he took the run and no one played it back to him, it always went to the middle or over to the right side. I think with Mori and Petrovski off, they could have used Heff and left side and the fact he was in the Midfield e a lot more than they did. We know the guy can score goals, but its a bit hard when there are no balls coming back to him. Whats the story there ? Also, what happened to Brownie, why did he not get on ?

Long balls had our midfield on defensive most of the night and not building an attack. But with, Tommy P, Grummps, Hutch & Kwas no need for the long balls. I through we were luckily to be on even terms at half time. Great goal and lets hope for a big crowd against the Roar.

The Newcastle kids that kicked the car looked like they would struggle to open a packet of chips between them...but I guess 50 gutless Scum supporters really showed that lady and child just how hard they really were. I had two seperate Jets fans have a little dig inside the ground but thankfully I was in a reasonable mood. One tosser, who already had a black eye, put his scarf in my face as I walked past and when i threw a mock right hand at him, he was acting shocked and whinging about it. They shoud serve light beer to anyone in a Jets shirt because they can't handle the full strength! Regarding the Footy....We were pretty poor again. Thankfully a classy finish nearly gave us 3 pts but the defending on the Newcastle goal was pathetic...we just stood and watched. Nearest man should have closed him down. Danny had a good game. Clarky made one superb tackle stopping a certain goal in first half. Hutcho was good. We looked much better balanced once Heff came on. We should have won once we scored but Simon and Kwas butcered a couple of easy chances.

On a different note, it's good news to hear that there will be a new scoreboard and video screen being built in the stadium.

Just saw the replay of the incidents. Vukovic = Should have got a red card. Last defender, nowhere near the ball and he raised his leg to get him. You blind pillock! The replay clearly shows that Danny got a touch to the ball, and 'The Cheat' just fell over his foot. I've seen free kicks given for similar (Oz v Italy penalty), but credit to the ref for getting it spot on this time.

Really Andy, that's great news, is there a source?
Ursus: I'm with you on that, I think Mori walks in to this side and he just craps all over Kwassie's confidence, doing that mouthing off crap. I thought it would be different this time given they're not fighting for a spot but it doesn't seem to be the case.

I reckon the Squadron's chanting "1 nil and you f*cked it up" on the way out of the stadium was their way of trying to share their pain of being 2-0 and then f*cking that up against Melbourne . But credit where it's due. Props to them for travelling in significant numbers and giving it a decent go. (Unfortunate incidents aside - I don't suck for Sydney but their fans seem to be more decent post-game). Not surprisingly, I was well pleased when Tommy was announced in the starting side (although I'm sure the ground announcer called him "No 9...."). I also thought he was a bit rusty at times but just love watching him when he fires and the magic goal came from nothing. Pity we couldn't hold the lead, we've resisted much heavier pressure at 1-0 against Sydney and the Roar and held on. I would have liked to see Greg Owens come on instead of Matty. (I know both our strikers had been subbed but a this level he still seems to not do much more than buzz around like an annoying bee). At 1-0 maybe we could have been looking more for who was going to create a second. Still, now one third through and although we know there's better play in us - WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE .

I'm over the whole pissing contest that goes on each time the three NSW clubs plays, especially at our stadium. We couldn't hear you and you couldn't hear us because shock horror sound travels forwards and when your talking you can't hear someone else speaking at the same time and the same goes with a couple of hundred people singing. Lets move on from that and give credit where it's due the amount of baby s@#t mustard shirts around the ground was good. To the game I am devastated that we lost two points there. We didn't play great but we were so close to coming away with all three points. I would of liked to have seen either Mori or Sasho stay on with Simon. Next week may be as frustrating without a lot of our first choice back 5. Hopefully the whimper are back to their wayward shooting ways! Only 7 weeks till we can go up there and get all three points. See you all there. dont know what fence they are on. Lefted all the hype for you lot to start. We just sat back and got ready for the game. Lawrie comments did back fire on him. Lucky it was a draw I don't know how you can say they backfired, they got the result they were targeting which was somewhere over 1k of away fans.

lawries comments, and hes made them every derby week so far were all about getting people through the gate in big numbers.
I thought the local media was very ,very quiet and I also thought the crowd was a bit lower than expected. We were owned for the first time by the Jets fans and thats ok it might happen again, this week we need to get the same numbers and move on and worry about our end.

Owned??? How the heck do you figure that??? We had more numbers, and we were louder, and looked better. Seems like we beat them in the 3 areas that matter.
they had a half-decent turnout - thank god - and actually made a bit of a derby atmosphere.
Yeah, we were a bit quiet (well, maybe I should say you guys now, I haven't sat in Bay 16 in a long time), but we have been just about all season. I actually thought last night was a bit louder than the last few matches. We (you, sorry) were pretty vocal at the start of the match, then it dropped off a bit until we scored. I don't know what the deal with that is - although all these f****** Sunday arvo games aren't helping. Seriously, when we finally don't have a sunday arvo match, I'm not going to know what to do with myself at 5pm on a Sunday. Maybe I'll watch tapes from old matches....

Loyalty is good mate but be fair they were the best they have ever been and IMO we finished second on the night. There turn out was better than half decent.

I'll agree that was the best they've ever been, but I won't agree that they were better. Not loyalty, an observation. I'll agree to disagree.
