Thank god but you know it is gonna be 2-1 still. We have had nothing. Jedinaket 4 mine very quiet, still finding his feet in his first game in two weeks. f*** it we r still on top. I don't have to work tomorrow so I am gonna drown my sorrows!!!!

we missed hutch badly and will be good to have boogs at the back, we really need to work on keeping the ball... far too much long ball shit and no support for the strikers

I think I'm more upset cause I've been looking forward to this all weekend especially since I went and saw the sydney v f***wits game. We were lacking in a few areas and this might be the kick in the bum we need. Aloisi just said Owens should have put his shot away but we really didn't create a lot of chances. end of the day we had 54% possesion and couldn't create more chances and our best player once again was our saviour MR D VUKOVIC. I heard some guys at the sydney game on friday night saying how good covic was BUT please Danny is the next socceroos keeper!!!!

Shows how much we miss both Hutch and a creative mid like Tommy. Mile was lost out there because he had no support. Kwas was Shithouse and Gumps is not a centre mid - that was an absolute wasted sub (ok he did more than Kwas but still...)
Viddy - Well he won't be here next year and we need Boogs back.
Was happy with the front two - not much they could do and they tried hard - really needed some wide play to help them. When Clarkey got wide we looked good but to be fair to Clarkey thats what you play 4 in the mid for....
Vuka is an absolute ledgend
We canb still win it because lets face it QLD can not shoot..... - This could be the Kick up the arse we needed because we looked like we whent to QLD for a Holiday...

 Another frustrating performance. Qld probably did have more chances, but we could still have got something out of that. 2 piss poor goals to concede - the first saw Deano caught out again and then fail to stop the cross coming over....and then...well, the less said about the own goal the better. Then, for the 2nd, slack marking and a deflected shot. Both seemed very VERY avoidable. STILL cannot understand having Deano in defence and Brownie in midfield, mind you..... Onto next week - should have 4 back, and a much better performance.

Rubbish.
I will forget I ever watched that game.
-We were never hungry enough to be first to the ball, and lacked the simple first touches.
-I thought the balls to the forwards were great and were brought down even better, but there was no midfield/backup/second phase running through. There is only so much that Simons and Aloisi can do to keep the ball!!

Anyway another big away game next week and we need to sharpen up our act or we won't finish in 1st. Jeez I am so passionate bout the mariners right now. !!!!!! |

well we need to win against adelaide next week away which will be bloody tough because queensland is playing against wellington and youd fancy them getting 3 points... agree with the above comments though, it is a kick up the ass for our guys - yeah we are in front but we cant take it for granted, alot of results have gone our way this season. Theres only a few weeks left to go, if we can keep our discipline and avoid suspensions and injuries we have a chance but we need to play much much better.

It wasn't that many weeks ago we were in a similar situation with Adelaide equal top. We can still do this. We need the following team though because as much as it would be nice we won't be playing 4-3-3 any time soon Vuka  Boogs Wilko Heff Tommy Jedi Hutch Owens Sash Aloisi I'm torn because I really do not know who can play right back. Could Stringers??? I also would love to see Matty on but it pushes either Sash or Aloisi wide. When we are at our best its our width that scares the shit out of other teams. This is what we need back - QLD showed that tonight and I think this league is lucky they can't shoot. If we had half their wide play we would bang in 3 most games. |

Viddy has to go. great servant for the game but he just has to go unfortunately.
Clarky had a shocker. He got caught ball-watching about 50000 times in the 1st half and thats was apart of Qld's 2nd goal.
Vukovic is a shoe in for the Qatar game surely.
Jedi was outmuscled for most of game which was a surprise
4-3-3 for sure next week. it's a must.

Bugger bugger bugger!! Tonight we could have almost stitched up the minor premiership but instead we have Roar just one point behind us. How bloody disappointing that we could have been 2-0 in front in the first half but instead we lose 2-1. Grrrrr.

I think They would go for Owens over Matty only because of balance and the want of playing a 4-4-2 Formation. I like the team you put on but there is no Tommy P and I think Gumps is a SUPER SUB type now. When Owens plays wide he goes alright we just had no width tonight at all bar a couple of Clarkey runs and one by Mat. |

Vidmar didn't have his best game but don't right him off.
I'm sure I'm going to get howled down for saying this, However, we have looked our strongest this year when Viddy and Boogs are in the middle. Before Wilko was injured we were leaking in the middle. After he has come back we are leaking in the middle. He commits himself, misses and it is left to the other centre back to cover for him. Not a shadow of the player he was last year.
