Have the people who have complained about the sexual references and swearing ever turned the tv on after 8pm? Okay I'll bite... there are a few things wrong with this statement. Let's just start with the obvious: * Someone can look at the TV guide and choose not to watch a show they know contains lots of swearing and sex etc. (not *every* show after 8 is full of language and sex) * Someone can choose not to go to an A-League game because they know there will be lots of swearing etc * Someone can send their kids to bed so they don't see shows with language and sex etc. * Someone can leave their kids at home when they go to the football so they don't hear the swearing etc. Are we starting to see a pattern forming?

Who says theres to be lots of swearing? I was making a point that more or less a zero tolerance policy on swearing is ridiculous as people in everday life will encounter those words.

Nobody said anything about a zero tolerance swearing policy. Just in the songs. Having a few hundred people all shouting "I can't hear a F**KING thing!!" is a bit different to a couple of people swearing in a conversation.

I was making a point that more or less a zero tolerance policy on swearing is ridiculous as people in everday life will encounter those words. like i alluded to before, it's in breach of stdium regs, and so is a megaphone, it's one or another. i'd rather have a meg. this is why i told you to read the previous posts. swearing out of exclamation is one thing. a thousand people swearing in unison, led by someone with a megaphone is another completely. when on tv do you have a thousand people singing 'f***' or 'c**t' in time? leaving all that crap aside, it's simply not an endemic problem - there are very few of our songs that are ever an issue, and thus has it ever been. long story short, aside from it being an occasional topic of discussion on here, we don't actually have any issues at the ground.

For the new songs to work we must persist with them. There are many which we have attempted once and when not many sang we gave up. Needs to be done over and over till they learn the words

Needs to be done over and over till they learn the words I agree - and those of you who suggest them need to blast it on at the ground rather than on the forum. An mp3 of the chants on the website would be good too

Think it is probably the best one we do with the most people getting into it. We have better songs, but dont get the same involvement even just in the bay. here we go we have never done very well. I remember hearing it done in holland when i was there a long way back, and it sounded incredible, but never gets a full chorus of people here.

Its the best one we do cos all the kids that sit in the front of the bay are still at school, just come from a swimming carnival, and are all pumped up for it.
DJ, has anyone ever suggested the idea of bringing a stereo, only a small one, into the ground with tunes on it for us to sing to???
For example, the music from "Yellow Submarine" without the lyrics to it, so at least if everyone can hear the tune, they may join in with the song???
Iv got an old shitty stereo thats not needed if it would work. Just another option if the ground would approve it.
