i dont agree at all re: stereo megaphone is good, not stereo - sorry what we need to concentrate on is getting a core group all together (as many of us forumites as possible) all co-ordinating the chants for others to follow from our lead... with one of us using the megaphone at the same time

Well there goes about 80% of our singing, we're going to be a very quiet bay next year ;-) I love the everywhere we go. Think it is probably the best one we do with the most people getting into it. We have better songs, but dont get the same involvement even just in the bay. here we go we have never done very well. I remember hearing it done in holland when i was there a long way back, and it sounded incredible, but never gets a full chorus of people here. at the very least, it would have to have a rework - it's long, it's a bit boring, it's too fast, the end is clumsy (we get all out of rhythm, even though we do it seemingly 6 times a week). it's a call and respose song, so changing it (including changing the rhythm and tempo) simply means the folks leading it need to know it - everyone else is just calling back, right?

Stereo is a good idea for getting the tunes right.
NS even if the stereo is used for the tune the megaphone would still be used too get the words across.

I personally would like to see if we can get a bunch of us together (towards the end of the off season), record a few chants and put them on marinators.net (mp3) so everyone can listen to them at home and come game day be familiar with the tunes?
If Adz can do this on the new site I think it will become a very useful feature.
Something that Brett has mentioned in the past is to have a chant of the week competition? This would get put on the website and come the next game day give it a go in bay 16?

I think for the new website songs section they should be simply organised into the following categories.
SIMPLE CHANTS
Ole ole ole, Mariners, Mariners
Yellow army!
Mariners 3clap
etc
MARINERS SONGS
EIEIEIO
Lawrie McKinna's yellow army
Yellow football team (extended version!)
Yellow yeah yellow
etc
PLAYER SONGS
Hutcho man
Oh Wilko/Captain Wilko
Niky Mrdja's magic
etc
GAME SONGS
2-0 to the Mariners
dun-dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun DIE!
I'm blind, I'm deaf, I wanna be a ref!
etc
OPPOSITION SONGS
Nicky Carle is illegitimate
Keeevin Muscat, is a wanker, is a wanker
Baaaaaaaaa!
Each with instructions as to the tune it's sung to, when to sing it and any jumping/arm/scarf actions that go with it.

I don't have a great voice(at all) but I'd be keen to join in with u lot on recording songs. Everywhere we go is IMO a great song it's loud it's passionate it makes auburn jump around then we all yell back at him sounds great especially against Sydney in Kendall I struggle tho when we try and sing it late as my voice is usually shot by that stage.

Posh Spice is a slapper She likes to sleep around But when she's shagging Beckham She thinks of Damo Brown!

I agree about the questionable relevance of the Posh Spice songs... but they're so funny! Could be pretty amusing to use the Vukovic one when he's bored of 'Danny, what's the score'
The second verse could be:
Posh Spice is a slapper, She has a _____y __anny, And when she's shagging Beckham, She dreams she's shagging Danny
(some characters deleted to protect the innocent)
