I know before the season had started there was talk that the marinators should have a song. I came up with this this morning. Tell me what you think.
To the tune of Waltzing Matilda.
Once a jolly man from Football Australia decided to give us a football team and we danced and we sung as we had something to support then they called you the Mariners.
Central Coast Mariners Central Coast Mariners We will support you Mariners We will stand and we'll sing and try to get you boys to win We will support you Mariners

Had to be Gumps. His vision to take the quick free kick that led to our goal was outstanding. He was the drover's dog yesterday. He was everywhere.

When supporting a team you follow that team through good times and bad. Sure we're not going too well at the moment, but we are only half way through THE FIRST YEAR of this brand new competition.

Bay 16 and surrounding bays are big enough for more people to come and sit with us.

Very clever WT. I like to rolling chant of "Yellow Army". That would also work well.

Love the idea about "Yellow Army". If this could be sung for a few minutes at a time it would sound really good.

I too started supporting the Mariners from the grandstand at the first CWC game against Newcastle. After watching you guys that day, I had to be amongst the atmosphere and I plonked myself in Bay 16 starting from the following game against Adelaide on the Wednesday night. Since then I have become a season ticket holder and I've always been in Bay 16. Although I haven't met anyone from the "main core" marinators I hope to. and also get involved with any fundraising and activites that may present themselves.
I would love to see more people in Bay 16, but not families. If we could get a lot more people like ourselves sining and chanting all game that would be great.
About the swearing. Whether we like it or not we are viewed as "The Mariners Supporters". We have to create a family atmosphere behind the goals as they are the least expensive seats. People coming to a game for the first time are going to sit there, because they wont pay the dollars for a grandstand seat and not like it. If little Johnny and Sally go home sining "Get into'em, F*** em'up" they wont be back.
Overall though, It's been a great ride.

Congrats to all Marinators who braved the weather last night. Although I am paying for it today, it was sensational. I can feel a sickie coming on !! And congrats to the crowd of 6500, a great crowd considering the weather.

The question should be: What did YOU get up to while your man was away ?
